National Highway 6, specifically the Ba La - Xuan Mai section, which is over 21km long, is currently being expanded to 50-60m in some sections where land is already available.
Regarding land clearance for the project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 6 from the Ba La intersection to Xuan Mai town, representatives from Chuong My district stated that the district needs to acquire approximately 85 hectares of land. To date, the locality has handed over 23.2 hectares of land to the investor for construction in the communes of Phu Nghia, Truong Yen, Dong Son, Thuy Xuan Tien, and Xuan Mai town.
It is expected that by the end of 2024, the locality will hand over approximately 80% of agricultural land and public land to the investor. It is anticipated that by 2025, the district will complete land clearance for the project's construction.
In Ha Dong district, the total land area to be acquired for the project is approximately 30 hectares. Currently, the People's Committee of Ha Dong district is coordinating with city departments and agencies to urgently implement land clearance for the expansion project of National Highway 6.
The project involves the renovation and upgrading of National Highway 6, specifically the section from the Ba La intersection (Ha Dong district) to Xuan Mai town (Chuong My district), spanning 21.7km.
The Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (the project's investor) announced that it has directed contractors to accelerate the project's construction progress as soon as the site is available and construction conditions are met. To date, the project has disbursed 9% of its planned capital.
According to information from the Traffic Newspaper, this Board recently opened bidding for package 02/QL6-XL for the construction of the road section from Km17+500 - Km19+920 (including Mai Linh bridge, trees, lighting and technical infrastructure) under the Investment Project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 6 section Ba La - Xuan Mai.
The contract, worth over 510 billion VND, will be awarded through an open online bidding process, with a contract duration of 38 months.
Seven bidders submitted bids, including five consortiums (bids ranging from VND 391.7 billion to VND 464.3 billion) and two independent bidders: Vietnam Construction and Import-Export Corporation (bid price of VND 433.8 billion); and Thuan An Group Joint Stock Company (bid price of VND 444.2 billion).
During the bidding period, there were 15 requests for clarification and 1 complaint regarding the bidding documents. The investor decided to amend the bidding documents and extended the bidding deadline twice.
The project has a total investment of 8,100 billion VND from the city's budget. Of this, over 5,100 billion VND is for land clearance, and 2,900 billion VND is for construction costs and equipment procurement.
The project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 6, the section from Ba La intersection (Ha Dong district) to Xuan Mai town (Chuong My district), is 21.7km long. This section will be upgraded to 4-6 lanes, with a design speed of 80 km/h, and a roadbed width of 50-60m, contributing to the completion of the radial road axis connecting National Highway 21A, Ho Chi Minh Highway, and the Ring Road 4 - Capital Region. The total investment for the project is 8,100 billion VND from the city budget.
In December 2022, the Hanoi People's Committee commenced the renovation of 21.7km of National Highway 6 through Ha Dong and Chuong My districts, including a 15.8km section in Chuong My district and a 5.9km section in Ha Dong district.
