On the afternoon of August 3, a special friendly match between the Vietnam 7-a-side football team (VPL Dream Team) and the team of professional football stars, national players and former national players - Viet Nam All Stars took place at the Hoang Mai Culture - Information and Sports Center (Hanoi).
Attending the match was striker Nguyen Tien Linh - the current Vietnam Golden Ball 2024 - the number one domestic striker of the Vietnam national team. Accompanying Tien Linh in the Vietnam All Stars team were a number of other national players such as Nguyen Hai Long, Truong Tien Anh, Do Duy Manh and Bui Tien Dung.
Participating in the 7-a-side match, the Vietnamese players joined hands to contribute to the "Couple of Loving Leaves" fund - a program with the mission of "Giving opportunities to go to school - Giving opportunities to change lives" - a charity activity to connect kind hearts with children in difficult circumstances, supporting them on their journey of learning and pursuing their dreams.
The 70-minute match at Hoang Mai Stadium gave the audience a feast of football with 6 goals divided equally between the two teams.
VPL Dream Team - familiar with the 7-a-side tournament - took the initiative and quickly took a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Claudecir and Dau Duc Tu.
However, Viet Nam All Stars demonstrated the class of the national players and former national players when Hoang Dinh Tung scored a double and Nguyen Huy Hung contributed a goal, helping the team turn the game around and take the lead.
In this match, Tien Linh only played for 20 minutes and did not leave any mark on the artificial turf field, which is not his forte. He has been the center of attention in recent days, when he suddenly left the club that helped make his name, Becamex Binh Duong (now Becamex Ho Chi Minh City).
Linh's new destination has not been confirmed.
