Tien Linh travels to Hanoi to play in a charity match.

While preparing to join his new team ahead of the start of the 2025-2026 V-League season, striker Nguyen Tien Linh unexpectedly appeared in Hanoi to play in a charity friendly match.

On the afternoon of August 3rd, a special friendly match took place between the Vietnamese 7-a-side football team (VPL Dream Team) and the Vietnam All Stars team, comprised of professional football stars, current and former national team players, at the Hoang Mai Cultural, Information and Sports Center (Hanoi).

The match featured striker Nguyen Tien Linh - the reigning Vietnamese Golden Ball winner of 2024 - the number one domestic striker of the Vietnamese national team. Joining Tien Linh in the Vietnam All Stars team were several other national team players such as Nguyen Hai Long, Truong Tien Anh, Do Duy Manh, and Bui Tien Dung.

Participating in the 7-a-side match, the Vietnamese players joined hands to contribute to the "Loving Leaves" fund - a program with the mission of "Giving opportunities to study - Giving opportunities to change lives" - a charitable activity aimed at connecting compassionate hearts with disadvantaged children, supporting them on their journey of learning and pursuing their dreams.

The 70-minute match at Hoang Mai Stadium provided spectators with a spectacular football feast, with 6 goals evenly divided between the two teams.

VPL Dream Team - familiar with 7-a-side football - started proactively and quickly took a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Claudecir and Đậu Đức Tú.

However, the Vietnam All Stars demonstrated the class of their national team players and former national team members when Hoang Dinh Tung scored a brace, and Nguyen Huy Hung contributed one goal, helping the team turn the game around and take the lead.

In this match, Tien Linh only played 20 minutes and made no impact on the artificial turf, which is not his preferred surface. He has been the focus of attention in recent days, following his sudden departure from the club that helped him make a name for himself, Becamex Binh Duong (now Becamex Ho Chi Minh City).

Linh's new destination has not yet been confirmed.
