In 2023, the Provincial Consumer Protection Association received, advised, and assisted in resolving 139 cases of consumer complaints and denunciations. Of these, 125 cases were successfully mediated via telephone, Zalo, and email; the remaining cases involved direct consultations. The complaints mainly concerned the sale of goods that did not meet quality standards (as advertised), delayed flights for tour groups without timely payment, and car sales contracts not being fulfilled as agreed.
Furthermore, in 2023, the association also intensified its efforts to disseminate legal information and basic consumer knowledge to help consumers protect themselves when purchasing goods and services, thus avoiding losses. Accordingly, the association printed and distributed 17,500 leaflets in coordination with local authorities, promoting consumer rights and responsibilities, guiding consumers towards informed consumption, and prioritizing the use of Vietnamese and local products. In addition, the association also conducted rapid testing of processed foods, vegetables, fruits, and beef for levels of borax, salbutamol (a growth hormone), and pesticide residues.
