Sad news: Colonel Phan Bao has passed away.

The Department of Science, Strategy and History of Public Security, Ministry of Public Security and the family are saddened to announce:

Colonel Phan Bao (born 1935, hometown: Dong Anh commune, Hanoi; residing at: Loc Ha village, Dong Anh commune, Hanoi) - former Deputy Director of the Institute of Police Strategy and Science (V21), now the Department of Police Science, Strategy and History (V04), Ministry of Public Security ; recipient of the 65-year Party membership badge, passed away at 5:43 AM on February 23, 2026 (the 7th day of the first lunar month, Year of the Horse); at the age of 92.

The wake will be held from 2:15 PM on February 23, 2026 (the 7th day of the first lunar month of the Year of the Horse); the funeral service will be at 7:00 AM on February 24, 2026 (the 8th day of the first lunar month of the Year of the Horse) at his private residence (Loc Ha village, Dong Anh commune, Hanoi ).

Cremation will take place at Hoan Vu Crematorium, Van Dien, Hanoi.

The funeral took place on the same day at the family cemetery (Loc Ha village, Dong Anh commune, Hanoi).
