According to The Telegraph , the aforementioned partner has brought Spurs millions of pounds in revenue over the years, but has announced it will terminate the contract at the end of the 2025/26 season, regardless of the club's league. This is seen as a direct consequence of the club's prolonged poor performance and unstable atmosphere both on and off the pitch.
Finishing 17th overall last season was deemed "unacceptable" and disappointed many sponsors. Concerns are further heightened as Tottenham continue to decline and face the risk of relegation.
A source shared: "The club has offered no satisfactory explanation or acknowledgment for their poor performance in the domestic league. Instead, they are focusing on the Europa League, a competition that doesn't live up to the expectations of their global sponsors."
Beyond just performance, the gloomy atmosphere at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium also impacts its commercial value. The empty seats and fan dissatisfaction make many partners hesitant to associate their brand with a team lacking appeal.
Spurs are also considered to have lagged behind the "Big Six" in the transfer market, consistently missing out on major targets. Changes at the top level have also left some sponsors feeling excluded from important decisions.
Notably, many contracts are said to include clauses for termination or renegotiation on an annual basis, meaning Spurs could continue to lose revenue if the situation doesn't improve.
