Comrade Truong Phi Long, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Long Bien Ward, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Long Bien Ward, Hanoi :
Continuing the journey of nation-building.

In this sacred moment, my heart overflows with emotion and pride. As a young person holding a key position in the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and the Youth Union of the ward, I understand even more deeply the meaning of the word "Independence" that generations of our ancestors sacrificed to achieve.

Mr. Truong Phi Long, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Long Bien Ward.

Eighty years after President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, today, our country has made great strides, transforming from a poor and backward nation into a developing country deeply integrated with the world .

Hanoi – the heart of the nation – has also changed day by day. Reform policies are gradually bringing the capital closer to its aspiration of becoming a civilized, creative, and livable city.

In the face of this transformation, I feel fortunate and honored to have contributed my small part to the journey of building my homeland. Whether it's guiding people in filling out information forms, distributing gift vouchers, or assisting them in accessing technology and digital services, I believe that every action, every act of sharing by young people, carries within it a spirit of responsibility and patriotism.

We – the youth of today – do not forget the past and are writing the future day by day. With enthusiasm, intelligence, and loyalty to the revolutionary ideals, we are ready to dedicate ourselves to a sustainably developing Hanoi and a strong and prosperous Vietnam.

Mr. Nguyen Hung Vy, a disabled veteran (category 3/4), Secretary of the Party Branch of Trung Nam village, Cam Binh commune, Ha Tinh province:
A time of fire and glory, a lifetime of pride.

Born into a family with a revolutionary tradition, all three of us brothers voluntarily enlisted in the army, contributing to the fight to defend the Fatherland on the most brutal battlefields. My older brother, Nguyen Dinh Luan, and I directly participated in the fighting on the Quang Tri front in 1972, and both of us shed our blood.

Today, returning to Hanoi to attend this momentous celebration fills me with emotion. The streets and avenues are adorned with flags and flowers; the vibrant and enthusiastic atmosphere of the people anticipating this great holiday fills me with pride and honor. However, what moves me, and millions of people nationwide, most is Prime Minister's Directive No. 149/CĐ-TTg issued on August 28th regarding the giving of gifts to the people on Independence Day. While not substantial in material value, this gift is a tremendous source of encouragement, demonstrating the profound and humane concern of the Party and State for the people on this important occasion.

Our country is steadily and powerfully entering a new era of development – an era of integration, innovation, and the aspiration for national strength. As a war veteran and the Party Secretary of the village, I always remind myself to continue contributing, setting a good example, and striving to excellently fulfill all assigned tasks. This is not only a responsibility but also an honor, a way for me to contribute my small part to the successful building and protection of a socialist Vietnam – a prosperous, strong, democratic, just, and civilized nation.

These days, art programs, exhibitions, and commemorative ceremonies organized by the Party, the State, and the city not only create a solemn and proud atmosphere but also recreate the sacred moment when the Declaration of Independence was proclaimed in Ba Dinh Square 80 years ago.

In our locality, gatherings of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and families of policy beneficiaries, as well as cultural programs praising the Fatherland, have become occasions for the community to reflect on traditions, for today's generation to remember the contributions of their ancestors, and to remind themselves to preserve and promote the achievements of the revolution.

The significance of this year's commemorative activities goes beyond simply honoring the past; it also ignites a flame of enthusiasm in the hearts of the younger generation. Amidst the bustling streets, I see countless radiant young faces, eagerly participating in volunteer work, ready to contribute to the community. From university lecture halls to factories, from modern laboratories to remote border regions and islands, the young generation of Vietnam is following in the footsteps of their ancestors, affirming the spirit of "patriotism is action." They carry within them the aspiration to rise, determined to assert Vietnamese intelligence on the international stage through knowledge, creativity, entrepreneurship, and above all, through the responsibility of living a beautiful and meaningful life. That is also the reason why I vow to work and study to the best of my ability for future generations.

Veteran Le Van Hung, a disabled veteran of category 1/4, from Que Phong commune, Nghe An province:
Deeply feeling the warmth and sharing of emotions.

Today, I am deeply moved and proud to be here with 288 delegates, including meritorious individuals and citizens of Nghe An province, to attend the commemoration ceremony, parade, and march in Hanoi to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd.

What touched me most was the sincere care and thoughtful attention from the Party, the State, the city of Hanoi, and the relevant authorities given to the delegation of war veterans. Despite our frail health, difficulties in travel, and the long and arduous journey, we received warm affection and support wherever we went. This made me feel appreciated, happy, and even more proud to have contributed a part of my blood and bones to the Fatherland.

Over the years, the Party and the State have always shown deep concern for those who have rendered meritorious service to the revolution, especially severely wounded veterans like us. Thanks to this, our material and spiritual lives have continuously improved and been significantly enhanced.

I hope that the work of "showing gratitude and repaying kindness" will continue to be promoted and spread widely. And above all, I hope that today's young generation will always remember, be grateful for, and preserve the achievements of peace that countless generations of our ancestors sacrificed their lives and blood to obtain.

Student Nguyen Khanh Chi, Hanoi University of Industry :

The sacred responsibility of today's young generation.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd this year, like many other young people, I feel extremely proud and happy to be involved in volunteer activities at the A80 program, the exhibition "80 Years of National Achievements".

My volunteer work has left me with many unforgettable experiences. From cleaning up the streets with friends to guiding people through exhibitions, every small action carried great meaning. Because volunteering is not just about contributing a little effort or time, but also about continuing the spirit of "selfless dedication to the nation" that our forefathers painstakingly cultivated.

If the previous generation spared no blood and sacrifice to regain independence, then today, we – the young generation – are committed to contributing to the community and building a civilized and compassionate society. In every simple act, I always feel the invisible companionship of our forefathers – those who fell so that our country may endure. Therefore, we absolutely refuse to live indifferently or selfishly.

National Day on September 2nd not only evokes national pride but also serves as a heartfelt reminder to today's youth to live responsibly and dedicate themselves to the people and the country.

I believe that when today's young generation wholeheartedly cultivates the spirit of volunteerism, dares to live beautifully, and dares to dedicate themselves to the community, then tomorrow the country will have more citizens who are not only compassionate but also intelligent and courageous enough to lead Vietnam to strong progress. And perhaps, that is also the most meaningful gift that our young generation can send to the Fatherland this Independence Day autumn.

Ms. Ngo Kim Thuy, Dai Mo Ward, Hanoi City:
We feel proud and can clearly sense the widespread impact of this national celebration.

Joining the nationwide celebration of the 80th anniversary of National Day, early on the morning of September 2nd, my family and I, along with many residents of Dai Mo ward, went to Phung Khoang Park to join in the excitement of watching the parade and march on the LED screen installed by the ward's People's Committee for the benefit of the people.

Although we weren't physically present at the historic Ba Dinh Square, or standing on the streets to cheer on the marching troops, we could still clearly feel the powerful impact of this grand event.

As the majestic parade marched past the reviewing stand, the military music resounded, and the families present in the park fell silent, deeply moved. We were incredibly happy and joyful to witness, along with the rest of the nation, the sight of these regular, modern troops; these marching formations showcasing the strength and unity of the entire nation.

What was most moving was the moment when everyone's eyes were drawn to a single image, their hearts beating as one. We weren't just watching a television program; we were living in a sacred moment of history, where national pride flowed through each and every one of us.

This year's 80th National Day celebration is therefore an unforgettable milestone. It not only evokes the glorious past but also inspires aspirations for an increasingly strong and prosperous Vietnam. Living in this atmosphere, witnessing and sharing these emotions, I feel fortunate and proud to be Vietnamese.

To celebrate the occasion, my neighborhood started displaying colorful flags nearly a month in advance, creating a vibrant atmosphere for Independence Day.

Two days ago, I joined the crowds with my children to watch the rehearsal for the military parade. Today (September 2nd), I stayed home with my children and grandchildren to watch the live broadcast so we could see the entire parade in its entirety. Even though we were watching live at home, my family still prepared red shirts with the yellow star and flags to fully enjoy the atmosphere of this great national holiday. I feel very happy and joyful!
