'I'm constantly suffering from insomnia'

Regarding the incident where a female teacher at Van Phu Secondary School (Son Duong District, Tuyen Quang Province ) was verbally abused and cornered against a wall by a student, on December 7th, the Van Phu commune authorities are still coordinating with the Department of Education and Training and the Son Duong District Police to verify and clarify the matter.

Meanwhile, the People's Committee of Son Duong District has temporarily suspended Mr. Tran Duy Sang, Principal of Van Phu Secondary School (Van Phu commune), from his position and duties for 15 days to facilitate the verification and clarification of the incident related to the school's teacher management.

As for teacher Phan Thi H., despite being verbally abused and pushed against a wall by students, she still came to school on December 6th, spending most of her time there moving around in one corner of the schoolyard.

Speaking to the press, Ms. H. said that after the incident, she felt very sad, suffered from insomnia for many nights, and had to take medication to stabilize her mental state.

Ms. H. asserted that the incident on November 29th was not the first time she had been provoked or teased by her students. On previous occasions, she had reported the incidents to the school administration, but they were not resolved.

Recounting the incident where she was cornered by students, Ms. H. recalled that on November 29th, she was teaching a class in 7C. At that time, she saw two students sitting on a bench outside and reminded them to go back to class, but they didn't listen and even spoke disrespectfully to her. Afterward, several other students ran outside without the teacher's permission.

When Ms. H. wrote on the blackboard, some students erased it, preventing her from teaching. When reminded of their behavior, they surrounded the teacher. After the lesson, the students locked the door, trapping Ms. H. inside the classroom. The incident was later discovered and resolved by security guards.

After finishing her lesson in class 7C, Ms. H. taught in class 6A. After the lesson, the students from class 7C came over to verbally abuse and insult Ms. H., then closed the door, preventing her from leaving.

Ms. H admitted that due to pent-up frustration, she had used harsh words and reacted aggressively towards the students. Afterward, she was further attacked by the students who threw objects at her head.

Following reports that Ms. H. had been repeatedly insulted by students, a reporter from Thanh Niên contacted Mr. Nguyen Duy Sang, the principal of Van Phu Secondary School, but received no response.

Previously, as Thanh Nien newspaper reported, on the evening of December 4th, a video appeared on social media showing a group of students cornering a female teacher, cursing at her, and making challenging remarks. One student even lay down on the ground to falsely accuse the teacher of inappropriate behavior.

The clip, after being posted on social media, attracted a lot of public attention. Most comments expressed outrage, with some people suggesting that authorities should intervene and take strict action.
