Khánh Hòa is a coastal province in South Central Vietnam, bordered by Phú Yên province to the north, Đắk Lắk province to the northwest, Lâm Đồng province to the southwest, Ninh Thuận province to the south, and the East Sea to the east; it has Hòn Đôi cape on the Hòn Gốm peninsula in Vạn Ninh district, which is the easternmost point on the mainland of our country.

The population of Khanh Hoa (according to preliminary results of the province's population census at 0:00 on April 1, 2022) is 1,240,000 people, comprising 36 ethnic groups (Kinh, Raglai, Hoa, Ede, Co-ho, a small group of Tay, Nung, Muong, Thai, Cham, Khmer, Tho...).

The natural area of ​​Khanh Hoa, including both the mainland and over 200 islands and archipelagos, is 5,197 km² . The coastline is 385 km long with many estuaries, lagoons, bays, numerous islands, and a vast sea area. Notably, Khanh Hoa includes Truong Sa, an island district with a crucial economic , security, and national defense position.

Khánh Hòa currently comprises 2 cities under provincial administration (Nha Trang and Cam Ranh), 1 town (Ninh Hòa) and 6 districts (Vạn Ninh, Diên Khánh, Khánh Vĩnh, Khánh Sơn, Cam Lâm and Trường Sa island district) with a total area of ​​5217.6 km².

Khanh Hoa province is conveniently located in terms of road, rail, sea, and air transportation. Economic and cultural exchanges between Khanh Hoa and other provinces are facilitated by the railway and National Highway 1A running throughout the province.

The geographical location of Khanh Hoa province also has strategic significance in terms of national defense, as it is located near international shipping lanes, includes the Truong Sa archipelago, Cam Ranh port, and serves as a gateway to the East Sea.

Khanh Hoa boasts a long coastline and nearly 200 islands of varying sizes, along with many beautiful bays such as Van Phong, Nha Trang, and Cam Ranh. It enjoys a mild climate with an average temperature of 26°C, over 300 sunny days a year, and numerous famous historical and cultural sites. Furthermore, Khanh Hoa possesses diverse and abundant natural resources, particularly marine resources with many rare and valuable seafood species that can be exploited, farmed, processed, and exported in large quantities. It also has bird's nest, a special raw material for export and the production of rare and nutritious products for human consumption.

Natural conditions, geographical location, and cultural history have given Khanh Hoa province great potential for tourism and service development. Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa is currently identified as one of the top 10 tourism and service centers in the country. In May 2003, Nha Trang Bay was recognized as an official member of the Club of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World.
