At Goodison Park, Everton pulled off a major surprise against their more highly-rated opponents, Newcastle. For the first 70 minutes, both teams traded blows, creating numerous scoring opportunities. Then, in the 79th minute, Trippier lost possession in Newcastle's own half, and McNeil seized the chance, dribbling past defenders and firing a powerful shot to open the scoring.
Seven minutes later, Trippier lost the ball in the same position as before, and Everton launched a quick counter-attack, scoring to make it 2-0 through Doucoure. Then, in the 90+6th minute, Beto beat the offside trap, surged forward, and finished past the visiting goalkeeper, sealing a 3-0 victory for Everton.

This result gives Everton 10 points, lifting them out of the relegation zone. Meanwhile, Newcastle remain on 26 points, 4 points behind the top 4.
In the other match played early this morning, December 8th, Tottenham continued their inconsistent form. Hosting West Ham at home, the Spurs got off to a good start when center-back Romero headed in the opening goal in the 11th minute from a corner kick.
However, defensive errors cost Tottenham dearly in the second half. In the 51st minute, after Kudus's shot was blocked, the ball fell to Bowen, and the English striker finished from close range to equalize 1-1 for West Ham.

In the 74th minute, Udogie's careless back pass forced goalkeeper Vicario into a difficult position, sending the ball directly to Ward-Prowse. The midfielder quickly finished with two touches to put West Ham ahead 2-1. This was also the winning goal for the Hammers.
The three points earned helped West Ham climb to ninth place in the Premier League table with 24 points, just three points behind Tottenham, who are currently in fifth place.
