At the ceremony, 70 disadvantaged children received gifts on International Children's Day June 1 from the budget of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city. The Standing Committee of the City Youth Union registered to carry out 2 youth projects in response to the Summer Volunteer Campaign, including: Solar energy lamp project (20 lamps placed in Vinh Nguon ward), medical examination for people in difficult circumstances, total value of 150 million VND.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Chau Doc City People's Committee Huynh Buu Toan suggested promoting the Party's guidelines and the State's laws and policies on child protection, care andeducation , especially the implementation of the Law on Children. Synchronously deploy management and education activities for youth and children during the summer; organize recreational activities, creating equal development opportunities for children.
In addition, focus resources on perfecting cultural institutions to serve the needs of youth and children; review and popularize swimming for children; focus on activities to guide life skills, self-protection, prevention of violence, child abuse, prevention of accidents, injuries and issues related to children, appropriate to the age, maturity and development of children, minimizing cases of child abuse to the lowest level.
