At the Ho Chi Minh City socio -economic press conference on the afternoon of May 22nd, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thao, Head of the Tourism Resource Development Planning Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, provided information on tourism products that the city's tourism industry is actively developing.
Ms. Thao stated that, according to Decision 1894/QD-BVHTTDL of 2023, Ho Chi Minh City is tasked with developing at least one distinct night tourism product model and night entertainment complex by 2025. Currently, Ho Chi Minh City offers many night tourism products for visitors, including cultural and artistic performances such as the "À ố show," and more recently, the new "Chào show" – a show combining performances with cuisine from all three regions of Vietnam.
Cultural and artistic shows are now being combined by tourism businesses with night tours such as cyclo tours, double-decker bus tours to see the city at night... Or previously, the Cu Chi Tunnels introduced the "Moonlight in the War Zone" night tour, which takes place from 7 PM, taking visitors back to and witnessing the life of the people in the Cu Chi countryside during the period of 1961-1964.
In February 2025, Cu Chi District introduced a preliminary version of the "Land of Steel" show, which takes place in the evening at the Cu Chi District Traditional House, recreating the history of the Cu Chi army and people's struggle through the process of digging tunnels.
In addition, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism has collaborated with travel agencies to develop nighttime tours related to the cultural and historical aspects of Ho Chi Minh City, as well as afternoon tours to Cu Chi, including a show at the Cu Chi Traditional Center, followed by a trip to Tay Ninh to visit historical sites such as Minh Dam Mountain, Minh Dam Base, and Ba Den Mountain the next morning.

Furthermore, districts and communes in the area have recently developed many nighttime tourism programs, such as Nha Be with its "Nha Be - One Thousand and One Nights" program. Along with that, current tourism programs have also explored culinary offerings, especially those at restaurants on the Saigon River.
“In fact, there are already many nighttime tourism products in Ho Chi Minh City. The Department of Tourism is currently coordinating with the Department of Culture and Sports and the museum system, along with businesses, to conduct research and collaborate on two more nighttime tourism products, tentatively planned to be held at the Ho Chi Minh City Museum. These include a themed museum tour program in the evening, combined with experiences of folk art forms and a traditional Ao Dai fashion show at the museum to serve visitors at night.”
"The Department of Tourism is coordinating with the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Museum and director Le Quy Duong to develop a performance program related to the female civilian workers on the front lines in Vinh Loc, with the aim of launching it this year to serve tourists in the evenings," Ms. Thao said.
Regarding separate nighttime entertainment complexes, the Head of the Tourism Development Planning Department stated that Ho Chi Minh City currently lacks one due to several difficulties. These complexes need to be large-scale, not only to serve customers but also to accommodate service staff, logistics, parking, and other supporting infrastructure.

Ho Chi Minh City is crowded and vibrant at night. |
“The Department of Tourism has coordinated with the Department of Culture and Sports, the Department of Industry and Trade, and the Center for Investment and Trade Promotion to connect with many domestic and foreign investors. However, in Ho Chi Minh City, finding a location that meets the conditions to operate such a complex is very difficult.”
Currently, investors have yet to find a suitable location for investment. In particular, if it's a nighttime entertainment complex, it needs to meet the condition of not affecting the lives of the surrounding community. According to the city's planning, it is hoped that in the near future there will be enough land available to meet the investors' requirements for the formation of a nighttime entertainment complex,” said a representative from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism.
