The Government Office issued Notice No. 304 summarizing the conclusions of Prime Minister Le Minh Hung at the recent working session with the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee. The Prime Minister requested that the city ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the two-tiered local government apparatus, setting a target that by the end of 2026, the digital economy will contribute 30% or more to the city's GRDP, further affirming its role as one of the leading engines of digital transformation in the country.
The Prime Minister requested Ho Chi Minh City to implement Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo effectively and efficiently, maximizing its advantages as the largest science, technology, and innovation center in the country to pilot and commission applied research. He also urged the city to promote the "Digital Literacy Movement" and create a favorable environment for innovative startups. Furthermore, he called for solutions to increase the proportion of the digital economy and the local innovation index to achieve the goal of the digital economy accounting for 30% of GRDP by 2026 and 40% by 2030, truly becoming a new growth engine for the city.
Previously, according to the plan of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the city would accelerate digital transformation in key sectors such as industry, logistics, finance, tourism, and seaports. The goal is to have 93% of seaports applying digital platforms in management and operation by the end of this year, and the percentage of small and medium-sized enterprises using digital platforms reaching over 70%.
