Comrade Nguyen Quoc Huy, Chairman of the People's Committee of Phan Rang - Thap Cham City, said: 2025 is a particularly important milestone; the final year of implementing the 5-year Socio-Economic Development Plan (2021-2025), holding Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term. Thoroughly grasping the province's motto of action "Solidarity and discipline; proactive creativity; streamlined efficiency; accelerated breakthrough", right from the beginning of the year, the City People's Committee proactively issued a plan setting out 10 groups of tasks and main solutions to implement 13 key targets, with 198 specific tasks in various fields and has achieved many important results.
Specifically, in the first 6 months of the year, the city's socio-economic development has been stable, in which the trade and service sectors have recovered and made strong breakthroughs, with a production value of over VND 4,791 billion, up 11.1%. Total retail sales of goods and service revenue of over VND 18,119 billion, up 14.3%. Tourism has recovered impressively with 1.36 million visitors, including 180,000 international visitors, generating social income of about VND 1,200 billion. To achieve the above results, the city has focused on exploiting potentials and advantages, creating all favorable conditions, encouraging enterprises, production, business, service and tourism establishments to diversify products and types of services, actively applying information technology, organizing promotional programs, serving the maximum needs of consumers, attracting tourists to increase revenue and profits. In particular, many unique and large-scale cultural programs, activities and events are organized, typically the Ninh Thuan Province Culture, Sports , Tourism and Cuisine Week in 2025, which not only helps the city promote the culture and beautiful image of the homeland, but also increases the number of tourists coming to visit and relax, promoting the development of the trade, service and tourism industries.
Industry and construction achieved quite well, with a production value of 5,653 billion VND, up 12.8%. Of which, the industry reached 3,807.7 billion VND, up 15.8%, focusing on traditional products such as: Frozen shrimp increased by 15.5%; sugar increased by 14.3%; aloe vera jelly increased by 84.5%; canned beer increased by 67.9%... To promote industrial development, the city focused on solutions to remove difficulties for businesses; prioritized investment in technical infrastructure of industrial parks and clusters, attracting green, clean, high-tech investment. For the construction industry, thanks to accelerating the progress of key projects and works: Phu Ha New Urban Area, Phan Rang Center project, Binh Son - Ninh Chu sea project; at the same time, the demand for construction of households increased, helping the production value increase quite well compared to the same period, reaching 7.1%.
In the fields of: Planning and construction management; natural resources - environment; development investment; budget collection... have been focused on implementation. In the first 6 months of the year, the city granted 842 new business registration dossiers, with a total capital of over 130 billion VND. Total state budget revenue in the area reached over 484 billion VND, reaching 74.4% of the plan.
Along with economic development, the city focuses on improving the quality of education - training, health care, fully and promptly implementing social security policies for the people. Currently, the city has 13/13 communes and wards recognized for maintaining the standards of universal preschool education for 5-year-old children, universal primary education, universal secondary education and universal literacy; 36/43 schools, reaching 83.7% of national standards. Food hygiene and safety, epidemics, especially endemic diseases such as dengue fever, hand, foot and mouth disease are well controlled. In particular, the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses has been focused on and completed on schedule and according to plan, completing 61/61 houses, of which 33 were newly built and 28 were repaired.
Comrade Nguyen Quoc Huy, Chairman of the City People's Committee, added: The city has identified the key task in the coming time as effectively implementing the arrangement of administrative units; in the immediate future, well preparing all conditions for the effective operation of the new commune-level administrative apparatus. In addition, localities focus on solutions to complete development targets. Effectively implement solutions to promote and remove difficulties and obstacles for businesses to promote industrial development. Speed up the investment and construction progress of key projects and works as a driving force for economic development and increase people's income.
In addition, strengthen land management, urban order management, environmental sanitation. Improve the quality ofeducation and training, focus on solutions to improve schools to meet national standards, promote socialization. Pay attention to protecting and taking care of people's health. Fully and promptly implement social security policies. Promote and develop cultural, artistic, and sports movements to improve people's spiritual life.
