To ensure the blood donation movement spreads widely, every year, the Provincial Blood Donation Steering Committee, the campaign committees of departments, agencies, and organizations at all levels continue to promote propaganda and awareness-raising activities for officials, civil servants, students, and the general public about the noble purpose and significance of donating blood to save lives. In 2025, the province will focus on two major campaigns: the blood donation campaign during Tet with the theme "Spring Blood Donation Festival 2025" and the campaign in response to "National Blood Donation Day (April 7)" with the themes "Donating blood saves lives - Starting from managers," and "Donate blood saves lives - Donate regularly" to encourage officials, civil servants, students, and the general public to participate in blood donation. At the same time, outstanding blood donation groups, individuals, and families will be commended and rewarded to further motivate and encourage everyone to participate in blood donation.
Accordingly, in response to the two campaigns, the Steering Committees for Blood Donation in districts, cities, departments, agencies, and organizations actively implemented the program. Many agencies, units, and localities showed interest and provided support to promote propaganda and mobilization efforts, as well as financial and transportation assistance to ensure volunteers could donate blood safely, in sufficient quantities, and according to the plan assigned by the Provincial Steering Committee for Blood Donation. With the intensified propaganda and mobilization efforts, the blood donation movement in the province has spread widely, attracting a large number of people from all walks of life to participate. In the first six months of the year, 4,954 people registered to donate blood, resulting in the collection of 4,167 units of blood, contributing to better meeting the blood needs for treatment and emergency care for patients.
Mr. Tran Dai Nghia, Chairman of the Provincial Red Cross Society, said: "From the blood donation campaigns, many exemplary groups and individuals have emerged in the province, ready to share their blood, contributing to saving the lives of many patients in need. This shows that people's awareness of blood donation to save lives has undergone many positive changes, truly becoming a beautiful cultural aspect of each individual and the community. In addition to individual volunteers, many reserve blood donation teams have effectively played a pioneering role, actively participating in emergency blood donation, typical examples being the Steering Committee for Blood Donation in Phan Rang - Thap Cham City, the Blood Donation Campaign Committee of the Provincial Red Cross Society, the Provincial Police, and Ninh Thuan Irrigation Works Exploitation Company Limited...
With 41 blood donation drives under his belt, Mr. Pham Ba Phat from Dao Long ward (Phan Rang - Thap Cham city) shared: "I first started donating blood in 2008. For me, donating blood is a very meaningful act, showing gratitude to life by contributing to saving and helping many people who need blood transfusions. After each donation, I feel very happy and fulfilled because I have done something useful for society." It is known that besides donating blood, Mr. Phat also actively promotes and encourages colleagues, friends, and relatives to participate in this meaningful activity. He believes that donating blood is about sharing his blood to help poor patients with serious illnesses who need blood, and at the same time, donating blood is also an opportunity to check his own health. Mr. Phat confided: "To date, I have donated blood 41 times, and I will continue to donate blood when I meet the health requirements."
Similar to Mr. Phat, Mr. Truong Thanh Tan, an official from Bao An ward (Phan Rang - Thap Cham city), said: "Over the years, whenever the city has launched blood donation drives, I have always participated. I believe that my blood donations will help patients in need overcome critical situations and bring life to people. After each blood donation, I feel healthy and hope that more and more people will participate, so that the blood donation movement throughout the province can develop further and save more patients in need of blood during critical times."
In 2025, the Provincial Steering Committee for Blood Donation aims to mobilize and receive 8,500 units of blood. To achieve this number, the Provincial Steering Committee will focus on directing the effective implementation of the "Summer 2025 Blood Donation Campaign" and other planned blood donation drives to meet the blood needs for emergency and treatment purposes, ensuring the 2025 plan targets are met. The committee will review the blood donation targets of each unit and locality, coordinate with departments, agencies, and organizations to mobilize blood donors, and register with the Provincial Steering Committee to arrange additional blood donation drives, striving to achieve the 2025 plan targets and ensure sufficient blood for emergency and treatment purposes, contributing to the health care of the people. It will also strengthen the development of blood donation participation in provincial-level agencies and units, colleges, and universities located in the province...
