Northern area - Wulai Hot Springs, New Taipei City

Wulai Hot Springs in New Taipei City, nestled amidst lush green mountains and the resort village of Atayal, is known as the "Beauty Spring" due to its mildly alkaline water, which has a soothing and skin-softening effect. With temperatures around 80°C, the hot springs at Wulai are formed from metamorphic rock layers of the Xueshan Mountains, offering visitors a unique and relaxing experience.

Here, you can not only soak in the warm water but also have the opportunity to explore pristine waterfalls and stroll through the ancient town steeped in local culture. Especially from November to February, you might also be lucky enough to hear the mating calls of colorful cuckoos along the riverbank, creating a vibrant and impressive natural scene.

Central Taiwan – Nantou Hot Springs

Nantou is known for its hot springs containing carbon dioxide, often referred to as "bubble baths." With lower temperatures than other springs, the hot springs here offer a comfortable, soothing experience, stabilizing heart rate and improving blood circulation.

Famous hot springs like Dongpu, Lushan, and Sun Moon Lake offer a variety of accommodation options, from hotels to guesthouses. Soaking in the warm waters while admiring the stunning mountain scenery and Sun Moon Lake is an experience you shouldn't miss when visiting Nantou.

Southern Region – Guanziling Mud Hot Springs

Guanziling is renowned as Taiwan's only mud hot spring and one of the few places in the world to possess this unique type of spring. The mineral-rich black mud here not only helps reduce inflammation and fatigue but also has skin-beautifying effects, providing a complete natural wellness experience.

From September to November each year, the Guanziling Hot Spring and Food Festival attracts a large number of visitors, creating a vibrant atmosphere filled with local flavors. In particular, visitors can witness the "Water and Fire" – a fascinating natural phenomenon where flames erupt directly above the water's surface, creating a scene that is both majestic and mystical. This event also draws many visitors to explore the unique interplay between these two opposing elements.

Eastern area – Asahi Hot Springs on Green Island

Asahi is one of only three rare coastal hot springs in the world, located near the coral reefs of Green Island. What sets it apart is that the water temperature changes with the tides, offering visitors a memorable natural hot and cold bathing experience. With its clear, blue water and salty sea air, Asahi hot springs provide a refreshing and relaxing sensation.

From 5 a.m., visitors can immerse themselves in the warm water while watching the sun gradually rise over the Pacific Ocean. Upon arriving at Green Island, visitors also have the opportunity to explore other famous landmarks such as the Green Island Lighthouse, Dabaisha Beach, Pug Rock, Sleeping Beauty Rock, and many other interesting destinations that will make the journey even more captivating.
