Quang Binh Commune Health Station currently has 4 staff members (1 doctor, 1 obstetrician and pediatric nurse, 2 general practitioners). Every year, the station closely follows the activities of the industry, advises the Party Committee and commune authorities to issue a plan on the implementation of medical work, assigns specific tasks to officials and employees in the work of examination, treatment and prevention of seasonal epidemics; proactively and effectively implement national target programs on health. The station's staff, doctors, and nurses always strive to improve their professional qualifications and attitude to serve and care for patients, creating peace of mind and trust for patients. Every year, the station has examined and treated tens of thousands of patients, exceeding the assigned target. The station also always well organizes first aid and timely transfers severe cases to the upper level, avoiding the occurrence of accidents due to lack of spirit, responsibility and professional errors. In particular, the past 2 years have been an extremely difficult and challenging time for those working at the grassroots health level in general and of the Quang Binh Commune Health Station in particular. At the time of the COVID-19 outbreak, which placed heavy responsibilities on grassroots health workers, the medical staff was challenged, trained and became more and more stable when carrying the noble mission of curing diseases and saving lives. They have put aside their private happiness and family life to go to the medical station on duty; concentrate all resources on receiving, tracing, testing, examining, consulting, treating remotely, strengthening emergency capacity when patients need it; is the link connecting people with the nearest "gatekeeper" medical line.
Doctor Nguyen Van Phu, Head of Quang Binh Commune Health Station, said: In order to promote the role of "gatekeeper" in caring for and protecting people's health, in 2014 the station was interested in investing in building infrastructure with a 2-storey building with 12 rooms, along with many essential equipment, tools, chemicals, medical drugs, ensuring the performance of functions, tasks and disease prevention; building a herbal garden according to the model with more than 60 types of medicinal plants, coordinating with oriental medicine to treat patients. Along with that, the station has facilitated and encouraged staff to study, improve their professional qualifications, each officer in the station regularly innovates working methods, cultivates knowledge, actively participates in training courses organized by district and provincial levels. Along with professional activities, the practice of medical ethics is often focused, constantly improving the spirit, attitude of service and care for patients. Along with that, the station well implemented the national target programs on health; hygiene and food safety; environmental sanitation; coordinate well in performing health examination, monitoring and management for the elderly and functional rehabilitation for disabled people and subjects with chronic non-communicable diseases; the percentage of children in the vaccination age who are vaccinated with full doses is 100%; pregnant women receive pregnancy management, periodical antenatal check-ups 3 times during pregnancy; Children between the ages of 0 and 5 are given vitamin A twice a year, nutrition counseling, etc., so the rate of malnutrition among children decreases year by year.
