Thai Nguyen currently leads the country in tea production, with an area of over 22,200 hectares, a yield of 127 quintals/hectare, and an annual output of 272,800 tons (accounting for 18.3% of the area and 24% of the fresh tea leaf production of the whole country). Tea is a key crop and has played an important role in the socio -economic development of the province for many years.

VNPT Thai Nguyen believes that the province needs to plan for concentrated tea growing areas, improve product quality, create an environment to promote investment in in-depth processing, build brands, strengthen value chain linkages; and develop markets and exports.
Accordingly, the implementation is carried out through "digitalization," starting with digital farming households; digital cooperatives and associations; purchasing agents and procurement management systems; companies and factories; businesses trading in agricultural supplies; management of planting area codes; commune agricultural boards; and traceability.
The implementation roadmap includes: Phase 1 (Q1 and Q2/2025) digitizing and assigning planting area codes; Phase 2 (Q3/2025 and Q1/2026) standardizing processes and developing value chains; and Phase 3 (Q2 to Q4/2026) expanding and optimizing.
Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huy Dung highly appreciated the solutions proposed by VNPT and assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development as the focal point to concretize them into provincial policies; he also requested VNPT to cooperate closely in the implementation process. The two units must sign a cooperation agreement to implement the project and clearly define that the data uploaded serves the socio-economic development of the province.
