- On the afternoon of January 19th, the Department of Health held a conference to summarize healthcare work in 2025 and to outline directions and tasks for 2026. The conference was broadcast online to 16 locations including provincial hospitals, regional health centers, and units under the Department of Health.
The conference was attended by leaders from the Provincial Social Insurance Agency, the Department of Health, professional departments, provincial-level hospitals, regional health centers, commune/ward health stations, and a number of private medical facilities.
In 2025, amidst the restructuring of the administrative apparatus according to the two-tiered local government model and the increasing demand for healthcare services for the people, the provincial health sector has made concerted efforts to implement various solutions, achieving many important results.
The sector successfully completed 5 out of 6 key tasks assigned by the Provincial People's Committee, with one task being completed exceptionally well. Notably, the province achieved 12.5 doctors per 10,000 people (target 11.5) and 34.4 hospital beds per 10,000 people (target 34); the rate of people participating in health insurance reached over 95%; 100% of medical examination and treatment facilities implemented electronic medical records and electronic prescriptions; the rate of cashless hospital fee payments reached 80%; and over 96% of the population was managed using electronic health records. The satisfaction rate of people with public health services reached over 94%.

Disease prevention and control measures were implemented proactively and promptly, preventing any major outbreaks. Medical examination and treatment services met the increasingly diverse needs of the people, with over 1.26 million visits at public facilities, exceeding the annual plan by 32%. Food safety measures were strengthened, and no food poisoning incidents occurred in the area during the year.

At the conference, delegates focused on discussing and analyzing existing shortcomings and limitations, especially difficulties in basic healthcare infrastructure and the shortage of high-quality human resources. They also agreed on key tasks for 2026 with several targets: striving to achieve 12.7 doctors and 34.7 hospital beds per 10,000 people, a health insurance coverage rate of over 95.2%, and a satisfaction rate of over 85% among the population with healthcare services.

Speaking at the conference, the leader The Department of Health requests that its affiliated units focus on coordinating with the People's Committees of communes and wards to improve the capacity of grassroots healthcare, ensuring that 100% of health stations meet the requirements for health insurance examination and treatment; continue to promote digital transformation associated with improving the quality of service for patients; and focus on training, fostering, and retaining healthcare human resources, especially doctors at the grassroots level. At the same time, units need to proactively advise and effectively implement solutions to achieve the targets set for 2026, contributing to improving the quality of healthcare and protecting the health of the people in the province.
