Earlier, at around 5:30 PM on October 21st, fishermen discovered a bomb approximately 200 meters downstream from pillar number 9 of the Long Bien Bridge and reported it to the authorities.

Immediately after receiving the report, the Long Bien District Military Command took measures to move the bomb closer to the shore, and at the same time mobilized militia forces from Ngoc Lam and Bo De wards to guard and ensure the safety of the site.

Upon inspection, authorities determined the bomb to be an M-118, weighing approximately 1,362 kg, measuring 210 cm in length and 56 cm in diameter.

The district military command reported the incident to higher authorities, implemented safety measures, and organized the relocation according to plan.

Earlier, on October 10th, the Long Bien District Military Command, in coordination with the Engineering Department, the 544th Engineering Battalion, and the Engineering Corps, also handled a similar bomb discovered near the location of the aforementioned bomb.
