According to On , after several rounds of heated debate and consecutive court appearances over the past six months, on June 16, the Hong Kong High Court ruled in favor of Cecilia Cheung against her former manager, Yu Yu-hing, with the plaintiff required to pay all litigation costs.
Previously, Yu Yuxing repeatedly accused Cecilia Cheung of being ungrateful, betraying him, owing him money for many years without repayment, violating her film contract, and is now demanding that the Hong Kong actress compensate him with nearly HK$13 million (VND 44 billion).

Cecilia Cheung's side has argued that the management contract Yu Yuxing used to sign with other producers, forcing Cecilia Cheung to act in films and participate in the "Goddess' New Clothes" program, is forged. Cecilia Cheung never signed any such work contract. Her defense lawyer asserted that Cecilia Cheung was not obligated to fulfill the new work contracts because it was Yu Yuxing's spontaneous decision; therefore, she is not liable for breach of contract.
After investigation and verification, the court accepted Cecilia Cheung's arguments and ruled in her favor.
Cecilia Cheung's lawsuit began in 2020, during which time Yu Yu-hing continuously slandered the Hong Kong actress's reputation, criticizing her as ungrateful, causing her to suffer a mental breakdown. She broke down in tears in court, unable to defend herself.
Previously, the Beijing Dialogue exposed Yu Yuxing's deceitful tactics and further revealed that since 2016, Yu Yuxing had left the entertainment industry to do real estate business in mainland China and had no contact with Cecilia Cheung.
In 2020, after his business failed, Yu Yu-Hing returned to Hong Kong and sued Cecilia Cheung for breaking his promise to pay her back by accepting payment but failing to star in films to repay the debt.
Furthermore, according to an analysis from the Beijing Dialogue , Yu Yuxing signed six projects with Cecilia Cheung, but only delivered one film project, with no information available about the other five. Therefore, it's not that Cecilia Cheung refused to act in films to repay Yu Yuxing's debt or unilaterally terminated the management contract, but rather that Yu Yuxing lacked the resources to create projects for Cecilia Cheung to participate in.

During his time as Cecilia Cheung's manager, Yu Yuxing also engaged in numerous dishonest acts against both the actress and her partners.
Specifically, Yu Yuxing and Cecilia Cheung's management contract lasted 8 years, but in 2013, Yu's company, Hong Kong's New Asia Entertainment Group, was liquidated by a Hong Kong court. This means the contract between Cecilia Cheung and the company ended because the contracting party changed.
However, Yu Yuxing concealed this information and transferred Cecilia Cheung's "film debt repayment" contract to another company without the actress's knowledge. Therefore, Cecilia Cheung repeatedly asserted that the signature on her supplementary contract was forged. Cecilia Cheung's side then requested a handwriting analysis, which revealed the signature was fake, thus invalidating the agreement and securing her victory.
On the other hand, in court, Cecilia Cheung stated that while Yu Yuxing was her agent, he had repeatedly deceived the actress. In 2014, when China's Oriental Television invited Cecilia Cheung to participate in the program "Goddess' New Outfit ," Yu Yuxing received an advance payment of 2 million RMB on her behalf.
However, Cecilia Cheung later did not participate. When the organizers contacted the actress directly and threatened to sue her, they learned that Cecilia Cheung had not received the 2 million RMB. In court, Cecilia Cheung stated, "This incident has caused me a loss of 7 million RMB."
Oriental Television subsequently sued Yu Yuxing, and Cecilia Cheung terminated her management contract with him. However, Cecilia Cheung did not sue Yu Yuxing because Yu's tearful revelation that he had cancer moved Cecilia Cheung to pity.
