Speaking with a reporter from Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper , Mr. Nguyen Thai Vinh Nguyen, Head of the Education and Training Department of Thu Duc City, said that the entrance exam for grade 6 at Tran Quoc Toan 1 Secondary School was conducted with several requirements: Only students who actually reside in Thu Duc City were allowed to participate in the entrance exam, and grade 5 test scores were not required.
According to Mr. Nguyen, first, parents and students will register for admission to the first-grade classes on the online enrollment system as usual. Then, those who wish to enroll in Tran Quoc Toan 1 Junior High School will take an additional English language proficiency assessment. Those who are not admitted to Tran Quoc Toan 1 Junior High School will still be allocated a place according to the regulations of the Thu Duc City's First-Grade Enrollment Steering Committee.
Tran Quoc Toan 1 Junior High School is a school implementing the advanced school model.
Because the entrance exam for 6th grade at Tran Dai Nghia Specialized High School uses the same exam paper and is held on the same day, students are only allowed to choose one of the two schools to participate in the exam. Mr. Nguyen also added that although the exam paper and date are the same, the admission scores for each school will differ due to the different enrollment quotas and the number of students participating in the exam.
Therefore, students taking the entrance exam for 6th grade at Tran Quoc Toan 1 Secondary School (Thu Duc City) will take an English language aptitude test on July 4-7, covering the following areas: Candidates will be assessed on abilities such as: language (English, Vietnamese - essay writing); mathematics and logical thinking; natural sciences , social sciences (history - geography); and general knowledge.
