The clip shows the brutal assault on a female student.
As Thanh Nien Newspaper reported, on September 28, a video circulated on social media showing a female student being assaulted by three girls at night.
According to the video, the victim was grabbed by the hair and repeatedly punched in the face by three girls. The victim repeatedly apologized, but the three girls did not stop and continued the attack. The assault culminated when one of the three girls repeatedly hit the victim on the head with a helmet, while the others pinned the victim to the ground and kicked her repeatedly in the head. Social media claims the victim is a student at Tan Thong Hoi High School (Cu Chi District, Ho Chi Minh City).
This afternoon, Tan Thong Hoi High School issued a report stating that it had received some information, images, and videos of students fighting circulating on social media.
Based on verification and student reports, the school has initially gathered the following information:
Regarding the photo showing four people allegedly being students from Tan Thong Hoi High School: Upon verification, only TNYN, a student currently in 11th grade at the school, is identified among the four individuals in the photo.
Regarding the two clips circulating on social media, the report from Tan Thong Hoi High School states: According to student accounts, the clip depicting students fighting in the evening, around August 30th (before students started school), took place outside the school grounds due to a social conflict. Student TNYN participated in the fight in this clip. The person being beaten is a student from the Continuing Education Center of Cu Chi District.
The fight in the house, however, occurred in 2023, and the students of Tan Thong Hoi School were not involved.
The school report also stated that YN's academic results for the 2023-2024 school year (grade 10) were rated as satisfactory; and her conduct was rated as good.
During their time at school, this student violated school regulations such as arriving late and being absent without permission. The school has repeatedly reminded them and collaborated with the family to educate them . To date, the student has not committed any ethical violations or acts of school violence.
After discovering the incident spreading on social media, the school conducted an investigation, invited the student and their family to cooperate in clarifying the matter, and submitted a preliminary report to the Tan Thong Hoi Commune People's Committee. A school representative was also assigned to cooperate with and assist the Tan Thong Hoi Commune Police in gathering information when requested.
Regarding the form of education and handling of violations by students: After receiving an official conclusion from the competent authority, the school will proceed with educating and handling the students' violations according to regulations.
Speaking to reporters, Ms. T., the mother of the assaulted student, said she was traumatized after watching the video of her daughter being attacked. According to Ms. T., for nearly a week, her daughter had been acting strangely, mentally unstable, and afraid to go to school. Through investigation, Ms. T. discovered that her daughter had been brutally beaten by a classmate.
"My daughter is currently in a state of panic; she has asked to take a year off from school and wants to return home to overcome the shock," Ms. T. said.
Authorities in Cu Chi district are currently conducting an urgent investigation to clarify the incident in which a female student was brutally assaulted.
