Over three days (June 11-13), more than 100 trainees, including artisans and outstanding artisans, will be introduced to, directly taught, and guided in the practice of typical intangible cultural heritage forms of the Ede people in Dak Lak province, which have been listed in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List, by experts, cultural researchers, and especially artisans with a deep understanding of the traditional culture of the Ede people. These include: Ede epic storytelling (Klei Khan), Ede rhyming verses (Klei Duê); call-and-response and courtship songs (Ei Rei); and skills in using traditional musical instruments for folk performances...
These are unique cultural values, deeply rooted in national identity, that need to be continuously preserved, passed on, and promoted in contemporary life.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Tran Hong Tien said that intangible cultural heritage is an invaluable asset distilled from history, folk knowledge, spiritual life and cultural identity of each ethnic community.
For the Ede people in Dak Lak province, folk literature, folk performances, and traditional music not only reflect the depth of their culture but also express the soul, worldview, and enduring vitality of the community across generations. Among them, the artisans are the core force, the direct cultural subjects involved in heritage preservation in their villages and localities.

Over the years, the preservation and promotion of intangible cultural heritage has always been a priority for all levels and sectors, with many practical activities implemented.
However, in the context of current integration and development, many forms of traditional heritage are facing the risk of disappearing due to a lack of successors, shrinking spaces for cultural practice, and the strong impact of modern life.

The implementation of the training program will contribute to spreading, preserving, and promoting the cultural identity of the Ede ethnic group right within the community; at the same time, it will enhance practical skills, teaching abilities, and gradually connect cultural heritage with community tourism development, creating livelihoods and improving the material and spiritual lives of ethnic minorities in the locality.
