In just 10 days, Cao Bang was hit by two powerful storms in quick succession, leaving the education sector unprepared and adding to the already difficult living conditions. In particular, according to preliminary statistics, Typhoon No. 10 caused estimated damage to the province's education sector exceeding 15.484 billion VND.

Throughout the province, 14 schools located in Thuc Phan ward and the communes of Bao Lac, Can Yen, Bao Lam, and Quang Uyen were severely affected. In particular, Chi Thao Primary School and Phuc Sen Primary School in Quang Uyen commune were deeply flooded, with many facilities severely damaged.
In a spirit of mutual support and compassion, Vietnam Education Publishing House (NXBGDVN) and Hanoi Education Investment and Development Joint Stock Company (a member unit of NXBGDVN) have donated 17,825 textbooks worth a total of 315 million VND to the education sector of Cao Bang province for students in various schools. In addition, NXBGDVN also provided 50 million VND in cash to schools in the province that suffered severe damage after the recent floods.
Speaking at the book donation ceremony, Mr. Ngo Van Hoan, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Education Publishing House, expressed: “We understand the difficulties that the Cao Bang education sector, teachers, and students are facing. Immediately after receiving information about the damage suffered by teachers and students in the province, Vietnam Education Publishing House promptly prepared books, hoping to provide the quickest and most timely support, accompanying the Cao Bang education sector in overcoming this difficult period. We hope that today's gifts are not just material, but also represent sharing, trust, and encouragement from Vietnam Education Publishing House to the students and teachers here.”

A kind gesture between those working in education.
On behalf of the Education Department of Cao Bang province, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hien – Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Education and Training – expressed his deep gratitude to the Vietnam Education Publishing House and the Hanoi Education Investment & Development Company, along with all their staff, for their noble hearts and high sense of social responsibility in supporting students in disadvantaged areas. Mr. Hien emotionally stated that the joint efforts of the Vietnam Education Publishing House and the Hanoi Education Investment & Development Company are a beautiful gesture, demonstrating the spirit of "mutual support and compassion" among those working in education.
"Today, 17,825 textbooks and 50 million VND in cash, totaling 365 million VND, were handed directly to teachers and students in the flood-affected areas. This is not only a material gift, but also a great source of spiritual encouragement. This is a humane act of sharing, helping students to quickly stabilize their studies and giving teachers more confidence to stay at school after the natural disaster," Mr. Hien emphasized.
On the same day, a delegation from the Vietnam Education Publishing House and Hanoi Education Investment and Development Joint Stock Company visited and provided books and cash totaling 22 million VND to Hop Giang Secondary School in Cao Bang province. This school was severely affected by typhoons No. 10 and 11. Ms. Bui Thu Hang, the school principal, shared that after the two typhoons, all the desks and chairs in the 12 classrooms and 6 offices were waterlogged, peeling, and many pieces of equipment were severely damaged. The total damage amounted to more than 1 billion VND. The support from the Vietnam Education Publishing House and Hanoi Education Investment and Development Joint Stock Company is not only material but also a valuable source of moral support. It gives us more faith and strength to move forward.
This year, not only in Cao Bang, but the Vietnam Education Publishing House is implementing a program to support textbooks for students in areas affected by natural disasters across the country. The total value of support is expected to reach 20 billion VND in 2025.
"We will work closely with the Departments of Education and Training and local authorities to review the list of students, identify actual needs, and ensure that support is provided quickly, transparently, and reaches those who need it," Mr. Ngo Van Hoan affirmed.
For Vietnam Education Publishing House, each book is not just a product, but a mission to bring knowledge to every Vietnamese student, whether in the lowlands or the mountains, whether in peacetime or after natural disasters.
