I, Hờ Thị Yến Vi, have never resigned myself to fate. I consider the place where I live to be the cradle where love between people sprouts, blossoms, and permeates through the years. I see the Hmong village as the most authentic cultural museum I have ever witnessed in my 16 years.
As a young generation, a generation that knows how to distinguish between what is outdated, what needs integration and development, and what should be maintained and promoted, I am very proud that young people have always lived life to the fullest with enthusiasm and a sincere desire to help their fellow countrymen, a thirst for knowledge so that they can return and teach the people they love.
Born in a disadvantaged area, I see it as an opportunity because it has taught me to appreciate everything, to find happiness in simple things, and has given me immense motivation to strive for excellence in my studies every day. I feel fortunate for that!
A storytelling session titled "Following the Moral Example of Ho Chi Minh " and the donation of clothes and sweets at Pà Háng Kindergarten.
I planned and, together with two friends, collected usable clothes and bought sweets to bring to the school to interact with the teacher and the children through games and storytelling about President Ho Chi Minh.
A legal awareness session for children in Pà Cò village.
Together with my colleagues in the group, I used the knowledge we learned at school to organize a legal awareness session for young children about their right to legal protection of life and health. These basic, easy-to-understand points, along with some questions applying the knowledge gained, have somewhat equipped the children in the village with the necessary tools for their development.
Yen Vi and her friends signed a commitment for the "Combating Child Marriage" project at the Mong Pa Co cultural exchange night of the Pa Co Agricultural and Development Cooperative. Their hope is to contribute a small effort to a more prosperous future, gradually reducing and eventually eliminating outdated customs in the locality.
And it won second prize in the "Creating video clips about the thoughts, ethics, and style of President Ho Chi Minh 2025" competition organized by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Moc Son ward.
Together with my classmates and teachers, I coordinated with the youth union members from the ward to carry out the "Green Sunday" activity organized by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
I host the Mong Pa Co Cultural Exchange Night every Saturday, aiming to promote the cultural features of the Mong ethnic group; this is not only a spiritual activity but also helps bring in additional income for the people.
Yen Vi wears traditional clothing while acting as a local guide for foreign tourists .
As a member of the Hmong ethnic group, I always feel responsible for preserving and promoting the cultural values of my people, sharing them with friends both domestically and internationally through our traditional clothing, daily activities, and customs.
The "Warm Winter with Moc Ly" project was conceived and directed by me with the consensus of the school's student council and the help of friends, teachers, and benefactors, with the hope that all those in need at the school and the people in the disadvantaged villages would have a warmer winter.
I believe I can start with small things to achieve big things. Therefore, I constantly think of ways and strive towards each goal. I want young children to also love their nation and have a sense of responsibility to preserve and protect its values. I want to prove that everyone is capable of doing so.
I assembled a team of young children to teach them dances and songs about national identity or about Vietnam, as well as patriotism. They all enjoyed it and enthusiastically participated. Those were some of the most memorable and enjoyable moments on my journey.
