From November 1, Ca Mau Airport will be closed for upgrading.

On August 5, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province directed specialized units and localities in the area to proactively coordinate with the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) on the plan to start construction to expand and upgrade Ca Mau Airport.

According to ACV, it is expected that on August 19, construction of package No. 12: Construction and supply and installation of equipment for runways, taxiways, aircraft parking lots and auxiliary works (under the Ca Mau Airport Expansion and Upgrade Project), construction time is 14 months.

During the construction period, Ca Mau Airport will be closed for 12 months, from November 1, 2025 to October 31, 2026 .

ACV said it will direct the contractor to speed up the progress and shorten the construction time to put Ca Mau Airport back into operation soon, minimizing the impact on the local socio -economy.

The project to expand and upgrade Ca Mau Airport was approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 1188/QD-TTg dated October 15, 2024, with the goal of investing in the construction, expansion and upgrading of Ca Mau Airport to ensure the operation of A320, A321 aircraft and equivalent; creating momentum for economic, cultural and social development, while ensuring national security and defense of Ca Mau province and the region.

ACV is the investor. The project has a total investment of about 2,400 billion VND.
