From November 1st, Ca Mau Airport will be closed for upgrades.

On August 5th, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province directed specialized units and localities in the area to proactively coordinate with the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) on the plan to commence the expansion and upgrading of Ca Mau Airport.

According to ACV, the commencement of Package 12, which includes the construction and supply and installation of equipment for runways, taxiways, aircraft parking areas, and auxiliary facilities (part of the Ca Mau Airport Expansion and Upgrade Project), is scheduled for August 19th. The construction period is 14 months.

During the construction period, Ca Mau Airport will be closed for 12 months, from November 1, 2025 to October 31, 2026 .

The project to expand and upgrade Ca Mau Airport was approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 1188/QD-TTg dated October 15, 2024, with the goal of investing in the expansion and upgrading of Ca Mau Airport to ensure the operation of A320, A321 and equivalent aircraft; creating momentum for economic, cultural and social development, while ensuring national security and defense of Ca Mau province and the region.

ACV is the investor. The project has a total investment of approximately 2,400 billion VND.
