The sport of juggling is also preserved and promoted by the Thai and Muong ethnic groups in Thanh Hoa.
The game of throwing is also closely associated with the life, activities and work of the Thai and Muong ethnic groups, often held on holidays and Tet. Through the development process, the game of throwing has also been included in the sports competition of ethnic minorities in the province.
To play the sport of throwing cones, you need a large field and a pole. The cone is made of many pieces of colored cloth joined together into segments, filled with sand inside, with a diameter of 5-6cm and heavy enough to throw far; at the corners of the cone are attached colorful pieces about 5cm long; in the middle is sewn a strong cloth string about 50cm long. In the middle of a large grass field, a cone (usually a bamboo pole) is erected. On the pole near the top is hung a circle also made of bamboo, with a diameter of 45-50cm. To play cones, there must be two teams, one male team and one female team, or a mixture of male and female, using the pole as a separator, facing each other. The technique of throwing cones is that the player holds near the end of the cloth string, spins the cone a few times clockwise before tossing it up, towards the cone background. The team with the most times the cone passes through the bamboo circle will become the winning team.
