The Party Secretary and Chairman of the People's Council of Tran De commune, Can Tho city, has been appointed to the position of Chief of the Office of the People's Committee of Can Tho city.

On October 22, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, Truong Canh Tuyen, signed a decision to accept and appoint Mr. Nguyen Trong Son to the position of Chief of the Office of the People's Committee of Can Tho City.

When Hau Giang province and Soc Trang province merged with Can Tho city to form the new Can Tho city, Mr. Son was appointed to the position of Party Secretary and Chairman of the People's Council of Tran De commune while he was the Chairman of the People's Committee of Tran De district, Soc Trang province (formerly).

Prior to that, he held the positions of Party Secretary of Ward 1 (Nga Nam town) and Deputy Chief of the Office of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province (formerly).

The Chief of the Office of the People's Committee of Can Tho City since the merger (July 1st) has been Mr. Nguyen Quoc Trung (formerly the Chief of the Office of the Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee).
