- “One day, I will tell the women in the village to raise a lot of chickens for economic purposes, and I will purchase all the products” - That is the dream of Ms. Hoang Thi Phuong, born in 1990, Duc Tam village, Van Quan commune, owner of the brand Quang Dieu Salt and Pepper Chicken and Soy Sauce Rolled Pig Ears. The dream is not only to enrich herself but also to contribute to increasing the income of women in the area.

Ms. Phuong's family situation was very difficult. She had small children, and her economy depended on the job of plucking chicken and duck feathers for hire, sometimes having to work for every meal. In that difficult situation, she still had the desire to start a business, find a job that could both support her family and help women in need in economic development. The question "Why not create dishes with a strong taste of home, clean, convenient, and high quality to bring to every family kitchen?" urged her to start a business through the culinary path.

Every day, in addition to working for a living, she and her husband, Quang Dieu, persistently experiment with many cooking methods, seasoning, and adjusting every little detail in each recipe. She combines some locally available spices such as star anise, cinnamon, gardenia fruit, etc. to create dishes that are not only delicious and rich, but also have their own flavor, different from similar products on the market.

In early 2024, two Quang Dieu branded products, including salt and pepper chicken and soy sauce-marinated pig ears and tongue, were officially available on the market. Salt and pepper chicken has a mild flavor, natural pink color, soft and juicy, rich in salt and pepper flavor; tongue-rolled pig ears are crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, combined with a special dipping sauce to create an attractive dish. Besides the two main products, she also developed soy sauce-marinated pig feet, soy sauce-marinated pig ears, and soy sauce-marinated chicken. To have a stable source of raw materials, she has contracted with a number of free-range chicken farmers in the area.

Ms. Ha Thu Huong, Hoang Hoa Tham block, Luong Van Tri ward said: I bought and tried some products of Quang Dieu brand. My first impression is that the product is carefully packaged, polite, beautiful; no need to process, just defrost and you can open it to use immediately, the aroma is very characteristic, the spices are seasoned to taste, delicious, very suitable for family meals, especially on busy days, when there is not much time to prepare.

After nearly 2 years on the market, Quang Dieu brand products have been positively received by consumers. Currently, her family's products are not only popular in daily meals but also included in party menus and as gifts. In addition to direct sales, she also sells online on Facebook and Zalo. Thanks to the delicious and unique flavor, the products quickly gained prestige in the market, helping her build a network of 10 distributors in and outside the province. With prices ranging from 140,000 to 280,000 VND/product, each month her family's production facility consumes hundreds of products, bringing in revenue of over 50 million VND. Her production facility also creates regular jobs for 2 local women, including one disabled woman.

Mr. Tran The Kien, Chairman of the Provincial Startup Investment Club, member of the Jury of Women's Startup Day 2025, said: The product of salt and pepper chicken and pig's ear rolled in soy sauce has a very delicious flavor, especially the rich and tasty dipping sauce. The product has also been invested in packaging and labeling. To develop further, the author needs to expand the raw material area, aiming for large-scale production, thereby increasing output and expanding the product consumption market.

At the 2025 Women's Entrepreneurship Day organized by the Standing Committee of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Ms. Phuong's project of processing salted and peppered chicken and rolled pig's ear with soy sauce won the consolation prize. She said: The family is expanding the scale of the production facility; investing in more equipment such as: steamers, electric cookers, industrial vacuum cleaners, large-sized refrigerators...; at the same time, registering to build OCOP products to affirm the brand's reputation, aiming to bring products to supermarket chains, clean food stores and regional culinary fairs, meeting the consumption trend of "delicious, clean, convenient, rich in identity". With dynamism, perseverance and determination, Quang Dieu branded products are gradually gaining a foothold in the hearts of consumers, expanding the consumer market, thus, Ms. Phuong is also getting closer to her dream.
