CAHN could not extend the unbeaten streak since coach Kiatisak took charge when facing Viettel FC in round 13 of V-League 2023-2024.
Facing a team that is in good form and plays a preemptive attack like CAHN, Viettel FC had to retreat deep into defense as soon as the opening whistle blew. The opportunities to open the score in the first minutes also belonged to the defending champions. However, coach Kiatisak's team could not maintain their proactive stance. Specifically, in the 31st minute, from the home team's counterattack, Nham Manh Dung accelerated and accurately scored to open the score for Viettel FC.
Receiving the first goal, CAHN continued to push the team higher in hopes of an equalizer. However, the diligent attack of Quang Hai and his teammates once again created opportunities for the opponent. In the 43rd minute, receiving the ball from Nham Manh Dung's cross, Pedro cushioned the ball from close range to double the gap for the team. This was also the goal that ended the first 45 minutes of the match.
In the second half, CAHN players still maintained the initiative and pushed the team very high to find a goal to shorten the score. Goalkeeper Van Phong had to work extremely hard against the turbulence created by his opponents. In the 2st minute, Nham Manh Dung continued to shine, he passed the ball accurately for Khuat Van Khang to score to increase the score to 71-3.
But just a few minutes later, the player wearing shirt number 2 received a second yellow card and left the field for fouling a Hanoi Police player. In the remaining time, despite playing better than others, Kiatisak and his team could not score a goal to shorten the score. In the end, CAHN lost to their opponent with a score of 2-0, ending their unbeaten streak since "Zico Thai" took power.
This loss left the defending champions with only 22 points, with a gap of up to 7 points from top team Nam Dinh. While Viettel FC has 13 points, 4 points more than the bottom team Khanh Hoa.
