According to sources in Russian media, the terrorist attack occurred before a concert evening held at the Crocus concert hall. A group of armed men opened fire in the main hall, then fires broke out on the upper floors of the building.
Immediately after the tragedy, the Russian Foreign Ministry called this a bloody terrorist attack. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has opened a criminal case for investigation. Law enforcement agencies in Moscow urgently took the necessary measures to rescue the injured and search for terrorists.

More than 30 regional ambulance teams and 20 capital ambulance teams were dispatched to the scene to perform the task. People of the capital and Moscow province are called on to volunteer to donate blood to save lives, starting at 8 a.m. on March 23, Moscow time.
