People's Artist Hong Luu: The Vi and Giam folk singing heritage must "thrive" among the people.
Having dedicated almost her entire life to the Ví and Giặm folk songs of Nghe Tinh, People's Artist Hong Luu believes that each election not only demonstrates the rights and responsibilities of citizens but also provides an opportunity to entrust her faith in those who will contribute to preserving and developing the cultural life of her homeland.

“Before voting, I always take the time to learn about the candidates, especially their action programs. I want to know what they will do for the people, for my homeland, including in the fields of culture and art. My vote is therefore a very responsible consideration,” shared People's Artist Hong Luu.
According to People's Artist Hong Luu, Nghe An is a land rich in cultural traditions, where folk songs and melodies have nurtured the souls of generations. Nghe Tinh folk songs and melodies have been inscribed by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity. However, for this heritage to truly live on in today's life, it still needs more attention.
“I hope that the action programs of the elected delegates will include practical policies to preserve and promote traditional cultural values. For example, supporting folk song clubs at the grassroots level, creating conditions for artisans to teach the younger generation, or incorporating folk songs into schools and community cultural activities. As long as the melodies of folk songs and chants still resonate in daily life, that is also a way to preserve the soul of our homeland,” People's Artist Hong Luu expressed; and also hoped that, after being elected, the delegates would pay more attention to investing in cultural institutions, creating more performance spaces, encouraging artistic creativity, and focusing on nurturing young artists: “For me, each voter's ballot is not only a choice for the present but also a belief in the future in which traditional culture continues to be cherished and spread.”
Folklorist Dao Tam Tinh: Preserving and promoting the cultural identity of Nghe An province.
According to folklore researcher Dao Tam Tinh, voters' ballots are not only a choice based on managerial ability or work experience, but also a belief placed in those who can contribute to preserving and promoting the cultural values of their homeland.
He argued that those elected should continue to learn and cultivate knowledge and experience from the lives of the people themselves. Folk cultural knowledge cannot be passively received through books or reports, but must be accessed through practical experience and immersion in community life.

"When delegates deeply understand traditional culture, they not only represent their constituents but can also become exemplary figures promoting the image of Vietnamese culture and people to international friends; at the same time, contributing to the development of tourism and cultural industries in accordance with the direction set by the Party and the State," he said.
In addition, he also expects that the candidates' action programs will include specific solutions to promote folk cultural heritage. According to him, it is necessary to maintain and create conditions for specialized associations and folk culture research organizations to continue operating effectively in collecting, researching, and publishing scientific works.
This also involves building community cultural villages, reviving traditional crafts, and honoring artisans – those who are directly preserving the cultural memory of the countryside.
He also emphasized the role of cultural institutions such as museums and local libraries; the recognition and protection of historical and cultural relics, and intangible heritage. When folk cultural values are preserved and disseminated, the cultural identity of Nghe An will continue to endure in present and future life.
Painter Nguyen Dinh Truyen: Expanding the creative space for artists.
According to artist Nguyen Dinh Truyen, what he is interested in when researching candidates is not just their promises, but their long-term vision and understanding of cultural and artistic life: "I want to know if culture, creativity, and aesthetic education are given the rightful place in the candidates' action programs."

According to him, a sustainable society cannot rely solely on economics but needs a spiritual foundation and cultural identity. Therefore, he is particularly interested in specific policies aimed at preserving cultural heritage, supporting young artists, building creative spaces, and bringing art closer to the community.
He also argued that transparency, a spirit of dialogue, and the ability to listen to the voices of artists and writers are essential, because art can only flourish in an environment that is open and respectful of creativity.
As someone active in the fine arts field in Nghe An, he hopes that the delegates elected by the voters will view art not just as a movement but as a field that directly contributes to human development and social life. According to him, it is necessary to gradually form a creative ecosystem in fine arts: from training, creation, exhibition, criticism to building a transparent art market so that artists can confidently practice their profession and contribute.
He also expressed his wish for Nghe An province to pay more attention to integrating fine arts into schools, public spaces, and community life; and to build exhibition spaces to preserve valuable works of art: “When art is present in everyday life, the public will have more opportunities to access and cultivate aesthetic appreciation. Preserving identity does not mean closing ourselves off in the past. With appropriate policies and an open creative environment, Nghe An's fine arts can both preserve their cultural roots and confidently integrate with contemporary art life.”
Poet Tung Bach: Empathizing with the joys and sorrows of citizens.
As someone deeply involved in the literary and artistic life of Nghe An, poet Tung Bach believes that artistic creation begins first and foremost with the way each individual lives.
"A person who lives a virtuous life, is responsible to themselves, their family, and their community; who dares to think, speak, act, and take responsibility, will usually create intellectual products that also aim for virtuous values. In literature and art, Truth, Goodness, and Beauty are always the goals we strive for," he shared.

According to him, artists are first and foremost citizens like any other. Before talking about creativity, artists need to live as true citizens, knowing how to share the joys, sorrows, and concerns of society: "Literature or art, in the end, are just 'spiritual children' born from life. They reflect the various emotions of human beings and contribute to enriching the cultural life of the community."
In the process of cultural policy planning, he argued that the voices of artists and writers should be listened to as a source of inspiration from creative practice. Artists and writers are often sensitive to the changes in social life, and therefore, they can contribute additional perspectives on spiritual life and cultural values that need to be preserved.
For Nghe An - a land with a rich cultural tradition and vibrant literary and artistic life - this listening is even more meaningful so that culture can continue to be nurtured in contemporary life.
Associate Professor Dr. Dinh Tri Dung: For the Party's major policies on cultural development to truly be implemented in practice.
In the field of literature and art, Associate Professor Dr. Dinh Tri Dung – Permanent Vice Chairman of the Nghe An Union of Literature and Arts Associations – is particularly concerned with how to ensure that the Party's major policies on cultural development are truly implemented in practice. The Resolution of the 14th Party Congress and Resolution 80 of the Politburo have emphasized the role of culture as a spiritual foundation and an important endogenous resource for sustainable development. For Nghe An – a land with a rich cultural tradition, the birthplace of many generations of intellectuals and artists – cultural development needs to be given its proper place.

“I hope that the delegates elected by the voters will show practical concern for building a humane and healthy cultural environment; creating conditions for research and creative activities in literature and art; and at the same time, focusing on discovering and nurturing young talents in the field of culture and art. When culture is valued, the spiritual life of society will be enriched and people will develop more comprehensively,” Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Tri Dung emphasized.
Associate Professor Dr. Dinh Tri Dung also hopes that, in the future, intellectuals and artists in Nghe An will have more forums to contribute their opinions to the local cultural life. When the activities of literary and artistic organizations are more closely linked to social life and the Fatherland Front, the voices of artists will have the opportunity to participate more actively in critical analysis, contributing to policy development, and spreading positive cultural values in the community.
