On May 18th, Vardy scored a goal in the 30th minute, helping Leicester beat Ipswich 2-0. This was also the 200th and final goal for Leicester City at King Power Stadium, amidst rumors that the striker will move to Leeds United this summer.
Despite Leicester's struggles from the start of the season, Vardy's goalscoring record in the Premier League remains remarkable. In the 2024/25 season, the 38-year-old striker scored 9 goals in the Premier League.
Vardy has announced he will leave King Power Stadium when his contract expires at the end of the 2024/25 season. The Guardian revealed that Leeds United are close to signing Vardy on a free transfer, after the player expressed his desire to continue playing in England's top flight next season.
Vardy was born in Sheffield, near Leeds, and admitted he is "capable" of playing in the Premier League next season. "I've always said that I'll keep playing until my legs tell me 'enough, stop,' but right now my legs are fine. I have no doubt about my ability in the Premier League," Vardy stated.
Emphasizing his determination to play in the Premier League next season, Vardy added: “I’m 100% sure I’ll be playing in the Premier League next season. But football is a world full of surprises, you never know what will happen.”
