Opening the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports Department, stated: “ The opening of the 10th season of the Vietnam Professional Basketball League (VBA) is a significant milestone marking the journey of development and innovation in Vietnamese basketball. The 2016 VBA was established as a memorable event, marking the first professional sports entertainment model in Vietnam. With a strategic vision and modern operating mechanisms, the league quickly attracted the attention of fans and professionals nationwide. Over the past nine years, the VBA has not only been an attractive and professional playing field for domestic and international athletes, but also a powerful catalyst for the development of grassroots basketball, especially among young people. The VBA has laid the foundation for the development and expansion of the basketball ecosystem in Vietnam, promoting the image of basketball through television broadcasts and becoming a model for professional sports leagues in the country and the region. On behalf of the Vietnam Sports Department…” Nam, I acknowledge and commend the contributions of the Vietnam Professional Basketball League (VBA), the clubs, coaches, athletes, and the league's management team, who have silently contributed to the VBA's success over the past decade. The 10th season, a milestone season, is an opportunity for us to reflect on the journey so far and reaffirm the aspirations of Vietnamese basketball. I believe that with a solid foundation and renewed determination, the VBA 2025 will continue to create high-level matches, memorable moments, and inspire the younger generation.”
Following the presentation of flowers to thank the sponsors and partners, the 6th StarXidol Inspirational Ambassador, singer ISAAC, made his debut performance. The heartthrob energized the atmosphere with three songs: "Mr. Right," "Bong Bong Bang Bang," and "Call Me."

Continuing to heat up the show was the debut performance by the international idol group ARKis. Making their debut, the eight talented members from Chinese Taipei treated fans to three hit songs, "Shoot" and "Under The Future," followed by a performance of "Apocalypse" in the middle of the show.

Finally, the opening game of the VBA STAR X took place between the defending champions Saigon Heat and the guest team from the Philippines, V Islanders. During halftime, the audience was reunited with the beautiful cheerleaders from the KIRABASE cheerleading squad.
On May 17th and 18th, 2025, VBA STAR X continues with two exciting matches: Cantho Catfish vs. Ho Chi Minh City Wings and Saigon Heat vs. V Islanders. Alongside these opening matches will be a performance by Cuong Seven and appearances by Truong Twins - Truong Thao My and Truong Thao Vy, Luong Xuan Truong, and Nguyen Thi Anh Vien.
The VBA STAR X season is organized in partnership with Vietnam Maritime Commercial Bank (MSB), aiming to spread a positive spirit and build a healthy, confident, and ambitious generation of young Vietnamese people. Through the sport of basketball, MSB hopes to inspire aspirations and self-worth in each young person, based on the foundation of "physical health and mental strength".
Within the framework of this year's season, MSB and VBA will implement five key activities, including: StarXcamp, StarXpro, StarXshop, StarXsmile, and StarXmusic. These activities are not only sports and entertainment but also integrate elements of education , finance, and social responsibility. A representative from MSB shared: “We believe that sports, especially basketball, can become an important catalyst in improving the quality of life, thereby building a sustainable future. As a strategic partner of VBA in general and VBA STAR X in particular, MSB hopes to further motivate and encourage Vietnamese youth to reach new heights in their journey of nurturing health, knowledge, and spirit, towards a promising future.”
