Author Nguyen Van Huy was born in 1972, currently Vice Principal of Long Hung Primary School, Long Phu Ward, An Giang Province.

With the camera his friend gave him, he started taking photos. Although he didn't know how to adjust the camera's parameters or master the shooting skills, he felt excited because he could create and satisfy his emotions with photography.

Fate came to him when he had the opportunity to meet many members of the Tan Chau Town Photography Association (old), participate in activities with them as a sympathizer, and then be introduced to the Chau Doc Photography Association. From there, he had the opportunity to learn, especially from the enthusiastic guidance of Photographer Cao Minh Det, Chairman of the Tan Chau Photography Association and Photographer Nguyen Hoang Nam, Chairman of the Chau Doc Photography Association. Besides, he explored and learned from the Internet, accumulating more skills and creative experience.

Having only been in the art of photography for a short time, Mr. Huy has gradually asserted himself. In 2021, he made his mark with the work "Cham ethnic children going to school during Covid season" which won second prize, "Peaceful night on Long An floating village" which won third prize and a number of photos exhibited at the photo contest in Tan Chau, qualifying him to become a member of the Tan Chau Photography Association. This achievement is a great motivation for him to continue to strive and go further when joining the An Giang Provincial Photography Association at the end of 2021, having more opportunities to practice.

Some of his outstanding achievements: B prize in the contest of composing and promoting literary and journalistic works on the theme "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style" in 2021, organized by the Propaganda Department of An Giang Provincial Party Committee; had works exhibited at the "Pride of a border strip" photo contest in 2022; B prize in the An Giang province traditional photo contest, Third prize in the Chau Phu district photo contest and was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee in 2023; A prize in the "Tan Chau on the path of development" photo contest, Third prize in the Tinh Bien photo contest in 2024...

Due to the nature of his management work as a primary school principal, he takes advantage of weekends and summer vacations to do the things he loves, such as taking care of fruit gardens, doing many charity trips, giving gifts to Khmer pagodas in the province, and not forgetting to spend a lot of time on photography.

The border region of An Giang has countless topics for him to freely compose: the flood season in Tan Chau; the traditional bull racing festival; the immense rice fields of Ta Pa; Sam Mountain hidden in the clouds; the brocade weaving profession of the Cham people; the pristine caves in That Son; the blooming season of cajuput flowers, rows of palm trees reflecting their shadows...

Mr. Nguyen Van Huy shared: "Taking photos is a hobby, it brings joy, it is for entertainment after working days at school, the happiest thing is to accompany photographers in and out of the province to create everywhere".
