At this time, the appearance of tourist areas and attractions has changed significantly with miniature scenes reflecting the essence of Tet in the Mekong Delta. According to establishments, the highlight of this year's Tet season is the deep investment in local culture. Beyond check-in areas, destinations are focusing more on experiential activities, recreating the atmosphere of Tet in the past, the floating market on the docks and boats, and culinary experiences associated with traditional Tet dishes. The harmonious combination of decorative spaces, Tet settings, and local cultural stories will contribute to enriching Can Tho's Tet tourism products.
In the festive atmosphere leading up to the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, Cantho Eco Resort (Nhon Ai commune, Can Tho city) is becoming the center of attention with many impressive New Year's programs. Cantho Eco Resort has invested systematically in traditional experiential spaces, with the highlight being the "Eco Tet 2026 Film Studio". The space is divided into several zones recreating the Tet celebrations of the past in Southern Vietnam.
Mr. Vo Nguyen Minh Thai, Director of Business and Communications at Cantho Eco Resort, shared: "The Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026 is also the time when Cantho Eco will complete its Tet film set. This year's highlight is that we are focusing on decorating for the traditional Southern Vietnamese Tet, adding some miniature scenes from Thailand, Japan, Hong Kong… to create novelty and diversity for visitors to explore and experience. Simultaneously, we are developing accompanying services such as Eco Safari zoo experiences, team building activities… From the 2nd to the 5th day of Tet, we will organize mini-shows during the day, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the festivities."
My Khanh Tourist Area, one of Can Tho's famous destinations, is also activating a diverse range of entertainment services during the 2026 Lunar New Year holiday. Leveraging its strengths in eco-tourism combined with entertainment, the tourist area aims to preserve traditional cultural features while incorporating new services to create a multi-experience entertainment complex for visitors from near and far.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Hoang, Deputy Director of My Khanh Tourist Area, informed: During the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, My Khanh Tourist Area in Can Tho City will offer many "Traditional Tet" experiences with Southern Vietnamese food stalls serving throughout the holiday. The Lunar New Year is a time when My Khanh welcomes a very large number of visitors. In addition to over 20 existing services, this Tet holiday the tourist area will launch two new services especially for young people: the Go Kart Race Track, My Khanh Glass Bridge, and the Spring Festival showcasing the unique Tet traditions of the Mekong Delta, along with the My Khanh floating fruit market, hoping to provide visitors with a rich and exciting experience.
Diverse Tet products
For about two weeks now, tourist destinations and accommodations in Can Tho have been busy preparing for the Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse). Besides investing in landscaping and decorative displays for check-in areas, tourist resorts and attractions are also focusing strongly on local cultural experiences, creating unique products characteristic of the Western Vietnam Lunar New Year.
Since its opening in 2022, Co Hai Garden Coffee - Homestay (Cu Lao Dung commune, Can Tho city) has always strived to become an attractive tourist destination; a place connecting tourists from near and far, offering authentic experiences reflecting the local culture. Mekong Silt Ecolodge (An Binh Ward, Can Tho City), often described as a "small village," nestles beside a winding canal and is surrounded by lush green gardens year-round. This Tet holiday, Mekong Silt Ecolodge is also offering many experiential programs steeped in the cultural traditions of the Mekong Delta.
Ms. Huynh Thi Bich Tuyen, Director of Mekong Silt Ecolodge, shared: "This Tet season, we have added a new experiential product: 'Tet in the Mekong Delta.' Besides the meticulous preparations by tourist areas and attractions, Can Tho city also organized many activities for locals and tourists to enjoy the Spring Festival and celebrate Tet, such as: Spring Flower Street, Spring Colors of the Orchard Program, Book Park, and many cultural festivals associated with tourism… It can be seen that this Tet holiday, tourist areas and attractions have continuously innovated their products in the hope of attracting and retaining tourists. In addition, the tourism industry strengthened linkages, offered preferential services for accommodation and travel, and promoted destinations, contributing to creating a vibrant tourism atmosphere and serving the sightseeing and entertainment needs of locals and tourists during Tet.
According to Mr. Sam Long Giang, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City, to ensure adequate conditions to serve the tourism needs of the people and tourists, and to ensure security, safety, and improve the quality of tourism services, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has requested the People's Committees of communes and wards to strengthen state management and destination management. At the same time, they regularly organize inspections and controls of the quality of tourism services at tourist accommodation establishments, tourist areas and sites, restaurants, entertainment facilities, passenger transport businesses, and tour guide activities; and strictly handle violations. Tourist areas and sites implement measures to ensure security and safety for tourists, especially coordinating with functional agencies to inspect, control, detect, prevent, and resolutely and promptly handle violations of the law affecting tourism activities.
Furthermore, the City's Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has proactively requested tourism businesses to develop plans and strategies to serve tourists during the Tet holiday. Simultaneously, they are to ensure adequate facilities are in place to serve visitors and promptly address any requests or feedback from residents, businesses, and tourists visiting Can Tho.
