The Vietnam Football Federation has disciplined five players from Ba Ria - Vung Tau Club who were prosecuted for gambling.
This morning (February 27), the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) issued disciplinary decisions against five players of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Football Club: Tran Ky Anh (born 2004), Nguyen Son Hai (born 1994), Le Bang Gia Huy (born 2002), Nguyen Quang Huy (born 2004), and Pham Van Phong (born 2004).
These players are banned from competing in national football leagues managed and organized by the Vietnam Football Federation. Tran Ky Anh, Nguyen Son Hai, Le Bang Gia Huy, Nguyen Quang Huy, and Pham Van Phong engaged in misconduct during the match between Ba Ria Vung Tau FC and Da Nang FC on December 24, 2023, in the National First Division League.

Four of the five players who were suspended (circled in red) regularly play for Ba Ria - Vung Tau Club.
According to the investigation, these five players conspired and agreed to underperform in the match between Ba Ria Vung Tau and Da Nang. The group then bet on Da Nang FC winning on a football betting website. Da Nang FC won the match 3-1.
Tran Ky Anh, Nguyen Son Hai, Le Bang Gia Huy, Nguyen Quang Huy, and Pham Van Phong were charged with gambling. Upon receiving this information, the Vietnam Football Federation and the Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) immediately requested a report from Ba Ria - Vung Tau Club to determine appropriate disciplinary action.
Currently, in national professional football leagues, the prevention and combating of corruption is always a top priority. In addition to coordinating with agencies under the C02 (Criminal Investigation Department), VPF (Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company) also regularly exchanges information with functional departments of the Vietnam Football Federation and cooperates with companies specializing in sports data analysis to prevent negative behaviors.
