A notable recent event has been the meetings between VFF leaders and representatives from developed football nations such as Brazil, Spain, Japan, South Korea, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and China…

VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan received Mr. Ivan Codina, Head Representative of LaLiga (Spain) in Southeast Asia, at the VFF headquarters in Hanoi on April 15th. Both sides committed to effectively implementing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in September 2023, aiming for practical goals such as developing youth football, improving the quality of coaches, and expanding the football academy system in Vietnam. Following the success of the LaLiga Academy in Ho Chi Minh City, plans to establish one or two more academies in the North are being pursued, in order to expand access to high-quality football for young talents.

Meanwhile, on the sidelines of the AFC Congress in Malaysia, Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan also held a meeting with the President of the Chinese Football Association, Song Kai, and reached an agreement to soon sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two federations. In 2024 and 2025, several Vietnamese youth teams have been invited to China to play friendly matches against international opponents, thereby gaining experience and improving their skills. This is a practical step towards realizing a systematic and comprehensive youth football training strategy.

The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) is also promoting cooperation with the Brazilian Football Confederation – a country with one of the world's leading football leagues. The memorandum of understanding between the two sides includes sharing expertise, exchanging players and coaches, and organizing international training and competitions at various levels.

Earlier, in mid-April 2025, the VFF also attended the 5th FIFA Summit on Compliance with Regulations held in Brazil, addressing many important issues regarding modern football governance.
