According to Nguyen Qui Quy, Deputy Director of the Department of Internal Affairs and Standing Vice Chairman of the City's Occupational Safety and Health Council, reports from businesses indicate that in 2025, the city experienced 240 labor accidents resulting in 252 casualties (including 10 deaths and 38 serious injuries). For the non-contractual labor sector, data from local authorities also recorded 13 deaths and 76 injuries due to labor accidents.
Analysis of the causes shows that occupational accidents are mainly concentrated in high-risk industries such as mining, manufacturing, and construction. Of these, 28.3% of incidents stemmed from employer error, 61.3% from employee error, and 10.4% were due to objective causes.
Notably, currently 425 out of 855 managed facilities have harmful or hazardous elements, with over 166,000 workers regularly exposed to these elements.
According to Mr. Quy, despite achieving certain results, the situation of occupational accidents in the area remains complex and shows no clear downward trend, especially in the construction sector. Many businesses are still negligent and have not fully implemented risk assessment, safety training, workplace environmental monitoring, or occupational disease screening for workers...
This year's Action Month is themed "Innovating management and improving the effectiveness of occupational safety and health in the digital age." The city focuses on key tasks including reviewing, evaluating, and developing safe working plans; ensuring strict compliance with legal regulations; effectively controlling hazardous factors in the workplace; and enhancing the capacity of specialized personnel. Through this, a high-intensity communication campaign is launched to prevent occupational accidents and diseases, creating positive changes in caring for the health and lives of workers.
Mr. Nguyen Dang Song, Deputy General Director of Da Nang Port Joint Stock Company, said that Da Nang Port is honored to have received the title of "Outstanding Enterprise for Workers" for eight consecutive years. In response to the Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health, the company is committed to resolutely implementing the "three zeros" goal: no labor accidents; no fire or explosion incidents; and no environmental incidents.
Besides communication and enhanced control, the company focuses on improving "practical capabilities" through comprehensive drills on fire prevention and control, rescue operations, and oil spill response, helping employees become proficient in handling situations on-site.
Through practical activities, the Workers' Month and the Occupational Safety and Health Action Month in 2026 will continue to spread the spirit of "for people," so that every workday is a safe and happy day for all workers.
