On the evening of June 21st (Vietnam time), the Ukrainian national team faced Slovakia in the second match of Group E at EURO 2024. Considered the stronger team, Slovakia quickly established a dominant position. In the first half, the team in blue continuously pressed and dominated the game.

All efforts paid off for Slovakia to take the lead. In the 17th minute, from a throw-in, the Ukrainian defense was caught off guard. Schranz received the ball from a teammate and headed it accurately into the left corner of the goal, leaving goalkeeper Trubin with no chance. Slovakia took a 1-0 lead.

In the second half, Ukraine proactively pushed forward in search of an equalizer. Their joy came in the 54th minute when a Slovakian player lost possession in midfield, allowing Ukraine to launch a quick counter-attack. Shaparenko received the ball and finished accurately, leveling the score at 1-1 for Ukraine.

Not stopping there, in the 80th minute, substitute Yaremchuk showed exquisite first touch inside the penalty area before finishing accurately, securing a 2-1 victory for Ukraine against Slovakia.

This result gives the Ukrainian team more hope of advancing to the Round of 16 of EURO 2024.
