Tuyen Quang Technical and Technological Vocational College is currently providing vocational training to nearly 40 demobilized soldiers with vocational training cards, offering 100% tuition-free basic courses. After graduation, the college connects and introduces students to job opportunities.
Student Dang Phuong Nam from Phu Thinh commune (Yen Son district) shared: “After completing my military service, like many others, I lacked qualifications and experience. Through the career counseling session at the job fair, I registered to study B2 driver's license at Tuyen Quang College of Technology. After completing the course, the school introduced me to a job as a driver at a Mechanical Engineering Joint Stock Company with a salary of 7 million VND per month. I have passed the interview and will start working this coming May.”
Units and businesses provide job placement services for soldiers preparing for discharge.
On average, Tuyen Quang province has over 1,000 young people completing their military service each year. Colonel Ha Dinh Khiem, Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command, said: “Before preparing for the completion of military service, the Party committees and commanders of the units where the soldiers from the province study and work will organize democratic dialogues to answer questions about the regulations and policies for discharged soldiers; and the benefits related to their careers.”
The Provincial Military Command, in coordination with relevant agencies, organized a job fair to provide career counseling and placement services. In particular, demobilized soldiers were also guided by local authorities and agencies to access preferential loans to develop their local economy . Those who registered for temporary overseas employment received preferential policies from recruiting businesses.”
In early 2025 alone, the Provincial Employment Service Center, in coordination with Tuyen Quang Technical and Technological Vocational College and Regiment 148, organized a Job Fair and Vocational Training Enrollment Day for over 700 soldiers who had completed their military service and returned to their hometowns.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Chinh, Director of the Provincial Employment Service Center, said: “Every year, the Center organizes job fairs in a flexible format, suitable for demobilized soldiers. When localities organize welcoming ceremonies for demobilized soldiers returning home, the Center also coordinates with a number of companies and businesses that need to recruit workers and have job opportunities to meet, advise, and introduce jobs, recruiting for many positions such as: sales staff, garment workers... Not only do they have job opportunities domestically, but young people who have completed their military service also learn about information and the labor export market in many countries with attractive incomes.”
Each year, Hung Duc commune (Ham Yen district) welcomes 15 to 20 young men who have completed their military service back to the locality. Implementing the policy of supporting the families of soldiers, the commune's People's Committee has deployed practical and specific solutions to provide employment for demobilized soldiers through vocational training and job placement.
Comrade Ha Xuan Truong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hung Duc commune (Ham Yen district), said: "The commune always maintains contact with businesses to proactively introduce jobs for demobilized soldiers. Over the past 5 years, the commune has introduced more than 90 demobilized soldiers to work in companies inside and outside the province with an income of 8-13 million VND/person/month; and supported over 12 demobilized soldiers in borrowing capital and participating in training courses to develop their economy."
Providing timely and appropriate career counseling, training, and job placement services to demobilized soldiers will create a high-quality workforce. This, in turn, will contribute to local economic development and social security.
