Workers at Song Nhi Garment Co., Ltd. (Tien Trang commune) are actively producing orders for the beginning of 2026.
From the third day of the Lunar New Year, recruitment and job postings on Facebook pages in Thanh Hoa were very active, with many posts and comments about hiring workers to start immediately after the holiday. In fact, the demand for post-holiday work at companies and businesses in the province also increased significantly.
After the Lunar New Year holiday, Song Nhi Garment Co., Ltd. (Tien Trang commune) officially resumed operations on February 24th (the 8th day of the first lunar month). This is also the time when the company needs to recruit a large number of workers. Ms. Pham Thi Nga, Director of Song Nhi Garment Co., Ltd., said: “The company has orders until November 2026, so to ensure the progress of orders, the company needs to recruit about 70 more workers. Before the Lunar New Year, to retain employees, in addition to insurance and guaranteed income, the company also offers many benefits such as Tet bonuses calculated as a percentage of the annual salary; the longer an employee stays with the company, the higher the bonus. In addition, the company is constantly investing in modern machinery and equipment, improving the working environment so that employees can feel secure and committed to working with the company in the long term.”
According to information from the Thanh Hoa Employment Service Center, before the Lunar New Year 2026, production and business activities of enterprises in the province were relatively vibrant. Many enterprises in industrial parks and economic zones proactively planned their production early, focusing on completing year-end orders and ensuring income and benefits for their employees.
Furthermore, most businesses have effectively implemented policies regarding salaries, Tet bonuses, transportation support, and other welfare benefits, thereby contributing to retaining employees and reducing the rate of resignations before Tet. The percentage of employees remaining employed until the Tet holiday in many businesses reached a high level, creating a stable foundation for production activities at the beginning of the year.
Following the 2026 Lunar New Year holiday, the Thanh Hoa labor market is witnessing a trend of "early restart." Many businesses are quickly stabilizing production and simultaneously implementing plans to recruit additional workers to meet the needs of expanding production and securing new orders.
According to data compiled by the Thanh Hoa Employment Service Center, in 2025 – the period coinciding with the previous Tet holiday – 469 businesses participated in recruitment activities through the center, with high recruitment demand spanning many sectors such as garment, footwear, electronic components, agricultural processing, construction, and services.
Specifically, at job fairs and career counseling conferences held throughout the year, 219 businesses participated directly, providing advice to over 7,300 job seekers. As a result, 1,544 workers successfully found employment through these job fairs. In addition, the total number of people receiving job counseling and labor policy advice during the year reached over 81,000, of which 4,660 received support in finding domestic employment, overseas employment, or vocational training.
The above figures show that the demand for labor from businesses inside and outside the province for workers from Thanh Hoa remains high, especially in the industrial production and service sectors.
Overall, labor fluctuations after the Lunar New Year were concentrated among unskilled workers who tended to change jobs in search of better working environments and income. However, thanks to timely information gathering, recruitment demand forecasting, and networking activities, the labor market in the province did not experience a widespread labor shortage.
Furthermore, maintaining regular and mobile job fairs at the local level has helped bring recruitment information closer to workers, especially those in rural and mountainous areas. This is a crucial factor in regulating labor supply and demand.
Mr. Le Ngoc Hao, Director of the Thanh Hoa Employment Service Center, stated: “Entering 2026, the Thanh Hoa Employment Service Center aims to continue surveying and updating the recruitment needs of approximately 1,200 businesses, with a total projected demand of around 65,000 workers; and simultaneously organize 30-40 job placement activities throughout the province. With close coordination between state management agencies, employment service units, and the business community, the Thanh Hoa labor market is assessed to continue its recovery and sustainable development.”
Overall, the labor market after the Lunar New Year in 2026 not only reflects the increased demand for labor and employment but also poses a long-term challenge regarding employment policies aimed at stability. Only when businesses consider workers as their primary resource and workers proactively improve their professional skills will the labor market stabilize, creating a solid foundation for Thanh Hoa to effectively achieve its socio-economic development goals and address employment issues in 2026.
