In White Fire , Viet Hoa plays Mai, a character she describes as strong-willed, fearless, and completely different from her previous roles. While audiences are familiar with her image in psychological dramas and family films, this time the actress steps into a world more colorful with crime and action.
"Mai is almost the opposite of me in real life, so the early days were quite stressful. I had to spend a lot of time researching the character, carefully reading the script before each day of filming to find a way to portray her appropriately and not affect the film crew's progress," she shared.
Besides facing psychological challenges in portraying the character, Viet Hoa also had to get used to the action scenes. Before filming began, the producer advised her to learn martial arts to prepare for the role.
The actress admitted that training in martial arts was not easy because she was only familiar with gentler disciplines before. The fight scenes required a lot of practice and repeated filming to ensure authenticity and the safety of the actors.
Besides the crime-related plot, White Fire also reveals a romantic relationship between Mai and Huong "Black," played by Duy Hung.
Viet Hoa said that in the early episodes, the two characters frequently clashed and argued. However, as they worked together, Huong "the Black" gradually became attracted to Mai's innocence, loveliness, and personality.
The two filmed a confession scene on the rooftop of a high-rise building. The actress recounted that the weather was very cold and windy during filming, causing both of them to have dry, red eyes. However, this made the actors look quite affectionate while performing the scene.
The film "White Fire" is a political drama and crime investigation film that explores the fight against drug crime in the context of modern life. According to the production team, the film reflects the reality of new-generation drugs infiltrating the youth through parties, entertainment environments, and the desire for fame among a segment of young people...
The film focuses on depicting the battle of wits between law enforcement agencies and increasingly sophisticated drug trafficking rings.
