People who have been with Vietjet since the beginning have risen to become CEOs.
The Board of Directors of Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company (VJC) has unanimously appointed Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son as General Director effective April 29th, replacing Mr. Dinh Viet Phuong. Mr. Phuong will subsequently assume the position of Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors for the 2022-2027 term.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son, born in 1971, holds a Master's degree in Business Administration and has over 30 years of experience in the aviation industry.
Before joining Vietjet, he worked at Pacific Airlines and Qatar Airways. These two very different environments, one domestic and one a world- leading international airline, helped him accumulate diverse experience ranging from operations to commercial activities.
He is one of the key personnel who has been with Vietjet since its early days, contributing directly to the development of its business and marketing operations.
In 2018, he was appointed Vice President, then became CEO from mid-2025, before officially becoming the head of the company.
His predecessor, Mr. Dinh Viet Phuong, born in 1969, holds a PhD from Russia and has held the position of General Director since April 2023.
During his two years at the helm, Mr. Phuong guided Vietjet through the post-pandemic period and laid the foundation for stable growth. Around the same time, Mr. Khuat Viet Hung, former Chairman of the Board of Members of Hanoi Metro, was elected to the Vietjet Board of Directors.

The seat occupancy rate reached 85%, indicating significantly improved operational efficiency, not only in terms of increased flights but also better passenger occupancy.
In 2026, Vietjet plans for consolidated revenue of VND 86,774 billion, an increase of 24%; and pre-tax profit of VND 2,421 billion, an increase of 15% compared to the previous year.

The assessment needs to clarify transportation needs, operational capacity, and investment efficiency, avoiding scattered and wasteful spending.
Furthermore, the parties must clarify the investment model, mechanisms, and resources for implementation in a way that is open, fair, transparent, and ensures equal competition. Implementation needs to harmonize the interests of the State, the exploiting enterprise, and the investor, while avoiding negative consequences, losses, and waste.
