- In mid-1933, the first Party cell of the province was established in Thuy Hung commune, Van Uyen district (now Dong Dang commune). This momentous historical event marked a turning point in the province's revolutionary movement, ushering in a new era under the leadership of the Party. Over 93 years of development and growth, the provincial Party committee has continuously strengthened, affirming its leadership role and uniting the people of all ethnic groups in the province.
On February 3, 1930, the Communist Party of Vietnam was founded, marking a momentous historical event and opening a crucial turning point in the revolutionary cause of our nation. From that historical milestone, Lang Son was one of the first localities to embrace the revolutionary ideals of the Party and established Party branches early on.
With the Party as a guide.
In mid-1933, commissioned by the Party, Comrade Hoang Van Thu and Comrade Doan Viet Tho went to Thuy Hung commune, Van Uyen district (now Dong Dang commune) to recruit 5 new Party members and establish the Thuy Hung Party Branch, the first Party branch in Lang Son province. Comrade Hoang Van Thu was appointed as the Branch Secretary. This was a significant event in leading the construction and development of revolutionary movements, marking the first milestone, signifying a step forward and acknowledging a vibrant reality: the red seeds of the Party sprouted in the homeland of Lang Son.

From its inception, the Party branch played a crucial role as the core in directing the building and development of the local revolutionary movement during the early stages of the national liberation struggle led by the Party in the province.
From 1936 onwards, under the guidance and organization of the Party, the mass revolutionary movement gradually developed strongly in Bac Son and Trang Dinh, bringing the province's revolutionary movement into a historical phase: the struggle to achieve people's livelihood and democratic goals in the context of the new revolution.
Throughout the revolutionary struggles and the protracted resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism, the Provincial Party Committee led the army and people of all ethnic groups in the province to uphold patriotism and self-reliance, mobilizing maximum human and material resources for the front lines. Under the leadership of the Party, the people of Lang Son overcame countless difficulties and hardships, achieving many outstanding victories, contributing alongside the army and people of the whole country to the great victory in the cause of national liberation and defense of the Fatherland.
After the war ended, the Provincial Party Committee led the people in overcoming the consequences of war, restoring and developing the socio -economic sector, ensuring national defense and security, and stabilizing living conditions. During the 1979 Northern border war, the Provincial Party Committee led the army and people of Lang Son province, bravely and resolutely defending the nation's border on the front lines.
Since the implementation of the reform process, the Provincial Party Committee has continued to lead the military and people of all ethnic groups in the province to uphold the spirit of unity, proactive creativity, and striving to overcome all difficulties and challenges, achieving significant accomplishments. The economic structure has shifted in the right direction; border gate economy is gradually asserting its role as a driving force for growth, opening up great opportunities for the province to leverage its advantages in trade, import-export, tourism, and services. The socio-cultural sector has made significant progress; national security and defense are increasingly strengthened; and the leadership capacity of grassroots Party organizations is constantly improving...

Looking back on the journey so far, Ms. Vy Thi Kim My, a Party member of Block 12, Ky Lua Ward Party Committee (a Party member who was recently awarded the 80-Year Party Membership Badge on May 19, 2026), couldn't help but feel moved and proud. She shared: "What I am most proud of is that throughout the past 93 years, the Provincial Party Committee has always upheld the tradition of unity and solidarity, closely followed the leadership and guidance of the Central Committee, and focused on effectively leading and directing the implementation of political tasks, socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, and improving the lives of the people. From a province with many difficulties, Lang Son today has undergone significant changes, and the lives of the people are increasingly improving. These results further strengthen my faith in the Party's leadership and the future development of my homeland."
Moving forward
Inheriting and building upon the 93-year tradition of development and growth, the Party Committee, government, and people of all ethnic groups in Lang Son province are always determined to strive for the successful achievement of development goals in the new period, aiming to build an increasingly prosperous, beautiful, and civilized homeland.
From the first Party cell of the province, established in mid-1933 with 5 members, to the present day, the entire Provincial Party Committee has 69 subordinate Party committees with over 72,000 members, affirming its continuous growth in both quantity and quality. According to Comrade Vy Xuan Thanh, former Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, in each historical period, despite facing many difficulties and challenges, the Provincial Party Committee has consistently demonstrated strong political resolve, formulated policies appropriate to reality, and led the people in overcoming difficulties and achieving many important accomplishments. This is the foundation for the province's continued rapid and sustainable development.

Notably, after 5 years of implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the 17th Provincial Party Congress, with the unity and determination of the Provincial Party Committee and the Standing Committee, the efforts of the entire political system, and the consensus and active participation of the people and the business community, Lang Son province has achieved many important results. Out of a total of 20 key targets, 18 have been achieved or exceeded.
2026 marks the first year of implementing the resolutions of the 14th National Party Congress and the 18th Provincial Party Congress. The operation of a two-tiered local government system places new demands on leadership, guidance, and the organization of political tasks. In this context, the Party's leadership role becomes even more crucial, serving as a decisive factor in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the apparatus, fostering national unity, inspiring aspirations for development, and creating momentum for the successful achievement of set goals and tasks.
Throughout this journey, every official, Party member, and citizen has been a crucial factor in realizing the aspiration to build their homeland. The achievements made over the past 93 years are a source of pride and also a driving force for today's generations to continue striving, promoting the spirit of unity, innovation, and creativity, working together to build a comprehensively developed Lang Son province.
Mr. Hoang Truong An, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Chi Lang commune and Secretary of the Chi Lang Commune Youth Union, said: "Today's young generation is always proud of the glorious traditions of the Provincial Party Committee. The achievements that previous generations have painstakingly built are the motivation for Youth Union members and young people to continue striving to study, train, master science and technology, actively participate in patriotic emulation movements, digital transformation activities, entrepreneurship, economic development, and building the homeland."
Building upon its glorious 93-year tradition, the Provincial Party Committee continues to effectively lead the implementation of key tasks. Drawing on the revolutionary tradition forged over nearly a century, the Lang Son Provincial Party Committee continues to move forward steadily, writing new chapters in its journey towards building a prosperous and civilized homeland.
