These changes are evident in the daily lives of people in the highlands, from education and production to access to public services.

In Sang Moc, one of the province's particularly disadvantaged communes, people have become familiar with the internet and digital applications. Mr. Vuong Van Hinh, from Khuoi Meo hamlet, enthusiastically said: "Now, even the children at home can look up educational information using smartphones. We adults can find documents and watch instructional videos on farming and livestock raising. Everything is much more convenient than before."
To achieve these results, over the years, Sang Moc commune has received significant investment from Thai Nguyen province in infrastructure and digital transformation solutions. After 5 years of implementing digital transformation as a pilot commune of the province, tens of kilometers of fiber optic cable have been invested in to reach all hamlets in the area. 100% of schools in remote areas have been connected to the Internet for teaching and learning. Geographical distance, once a major barrier to accessing information in Sang Moc, is now gradually being narrowed thanks to digital technology .
Mr. Nguyen Van Lam, Head of Ban Chuong Hamlet, Sang Moc Commune, shared: Nearly 100% of households in the hamlet have internet access, with almost half using broadband fiber optic cables. Many households growing oranges, pomelos, and dragon fruit proactively post their products for sale on social media and receive very positive feedback from customers.
The benefits of digital transformation are not only evident in education and production, but also increasingly present in public administration in mountainous areas. In May 2026, the Vo Nhai Commune Public Administrative Service Center launched a trial run of a receptionist robot to assist residents in searching for information, guiding them through administrative procedures, and accessing online public services.
In addition, police officers, youth union members, and community digital technology teams regularly go down to the villages and hamlets to guide people in installing applications, creating electronic identity accounts, and carrying out online procedures. For many people in the highlands, receiving direct guidance has helped them feel more confident in accessing digital platforms.
According to Ms. Tran Thi Huong Ly, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Vo Nhai commune: The most noteworthy aspect of the digital transformation process in the locality lies not only in the infrastructure or the technological applications that have been deployed, but also in the change in the awareness and habits of the local people.
From being hesitant about digital platforms, more and more people in mountainous areas are now proactively using technology in their daily studies, work, production, and transactions. And when people truly master digital tools, the values that digital transformation brings can be realized in the long term and sustainably.
