Quynh Luu district is considered the "pineapple hub" of Nghe An province, with an area of over 1,400 hectares spread across Tan Thang, Quynh Thang, and Quynh Chau communes. In recent years, pineapple has been recognized as a key crop, directly bringing stable economic benefits to growers.

As in 2024, Tan Thang commune harvested up to 25,000 tons of pineapples, a result of the close cooperation between the people and businesses. One of the pioneering units in purchasing and supporting pineapple production here is Tuan An Agricultural Products Co., Ltd.

This company is currently purchasing pineapples from over 300 hectares in Tan Thang commune. Thanks to a stable market, farmers no longer have to worry about the "bumper harvest, low prices; high prices, poor harvest" situation as before. This is an important prerequisite for households to confidently invest and apply advanced farming methods to improve productivity and product quality, aiming for the export market.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Khanh, Chairman of the Tan Thang Commune People's Committee, affirmed that the involvement of businesses like Tuan An has significantly elevated the status of pineapple cultivation. With a long-term vision and a fairly solid economic potential, the company is capable of purchasing most of the products from farmers in Tan Thang, not to mention applying policies to support fertilizers, seedlings, and cultivation techniques.

“Applying science and technology to production helps improve pineapple quality, increase economic value, and expand the consumer market. Tuan An Company acts as a support system, helping households focus on production. In particular, the cooperation between the company and Nafoods factory will create a major boost to support the expansion of the raw material area, ensure a closed production chain, and promote large-scale consumption.”

"The effectiveness has been proven in practice. Building on the existing foundation, in the coming time, Tan Thang commune will focus on expanding the raw material area, moving towards establishing geographical indications to meet the increasingly stringent demands of the market, thereby fully utilizing the potential and advantages of the local soil," Mr. Nguyen Quoc Khanh shared.

One of the households that directly benefited from the partnership model with Tuan An Agricultural Products Co., Ltd. is Mr. Duong Dinh Duc's household, residing in Tan Thang commune, Quynh Luu district. Currently, his family owns more than 5 hectares of pineapples, and thanks to the active support of the partner, Mr. Duc's pineapple garden consistently achieves high yields and superior quality.

“Based on the company’s purchase price, the family expects to earn about 1.2 billion VND after this harvest. After deducting expenses, the net profit could be more than half. The economic efficiency of the pineapple farming model is undeniable. Farmers and businesses share the same vision, and both sides demonstrate high responsibility in the cooperation process, which is the foundation of a strong and lasting partnership; that’s the key,” Mr. Duc emphasized.

Tuan An Company's ambitions extend beyond Quynh Luu district. This is demonstrated through its collaboration with Nafoods to develop a large-scale pineapple growing area in Tri Le commune, a mountainous region of Que Phong district, bordering an area with a large ethnic minority population. In 2025, the two companies plan to begin a trial planting of 100 hectares of pineapples, and if successful, they will expand the scale many times over.
