On September 22nd, the police of Tan Thanh commune, Lam Ha district, Lam Dong province, in coordination with other relevant agencies, launched an investigation into the vandalism of a passion fruit garden belonging to a local resident.
According to reports, on the morning of September 20th, when visiting their garden, Mr. Vu Dinh Dung (42 years old, residing in Tan Hop village, Tan Thanh commune) and his wife were horrified to find many passion fruit vines cut at the trunk. Mr. Dung also discovered that three sections of his B40 wire mesh fence had been cut.

Upon inspection, Mr. Dung discovered that 325 passion fruit plants had been cut down and could not be restored. All the damaged plants were in the harvesting stage.
According to Mr. Dung, his family planted a total of 450 passion fruit plants on a 0.5-hectare garden, of which 325 were cut down. Before the destruction, Mr. Dung's family harvested over 1 ton of fruit daily, selling it to a purchasing facility at 20,000 VND/kg.
