Alp Toker, director of the internet monitoring company Netxblols, commented: "This is one of the longest disruptions for X and is quite similar to a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack targeting the social network's infrastructure."

Shortly afterward, X also acknowledged the service disruption. Elon Musk claimed that the widespread outage on X was due to "a large-scale cyberattack" orchestrated by a major organization.

He stated: "We don't know exactly what happened, but there was a massive cyberattack attempting to bring down System X, whose IP address originated from the Ukrainian region."
