The 2026 World Cup is less than a year away in North America. At this point, 18 teams are guaranteed to be in the biggest tournament on the planet. In South America, the qualifying round has officially ended. Familiar names such as Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Colombia, Ecuador and Paraguay have all completed their goal of qualifying for the World Cup. Meanwhile, Bolivia still has a chance but must overcome a play-off to get there.
Asia has also confirmed that Iran, Uzbekistan, Jordan, South Korea, Japan and Australia will travel to North America. Notably, Uzbekistan and Jordan will participate in the World Cup for the first time in history.
In Africa, Morocco and Tunisia are the first two teams to have registered their names to compete in the biggest festival on the planet next year. Oceania representative New Zealand is also certain to come to the tournament.
The 2026 World Cup returns to its usual summer time slot in North America, taking place from June next year and being held in 3 countries with a total of 48 teams competing. This is the biggest World Cup in history.
At the most recent World Cup held in Qatar, Argentina became champions after a dramatic penalty shootout win over France.
